Fundraising for non charities

Can you do sponsored events for non-charities? There's probably an obvious answer, I'm thinking yes, but not sure on legality.

There's a cause that I want to support for someone overseas but it's not a charity, I don't think. Hmm

Are you looking to raise funds to keep Australian homosexuals in cork screw hats? If so hit Chichester up for a donation.

I don't see a problem with it being a non charity, so long as you're clear on what you're raising money for.

Yes you can, someone I know raised money for a bloke who broke his leg and was going to be off work, I'm pretty sure he set up a JustGiving page too.

Yep, JustGiving is by far the easiest way. They even have an option when you set it up to choose if you're a registered charity or not (for tax reasons).
