Fabio Paratici - Consultant

The very top of any organisation is always responsible for the overall performance of the business ...
Agree
Hence why us slowly being elevated back to the big league deserves plaudits
And a good leader recognises areas of weakness and splints people to mange them
The issue at spurs is if it goes well no credit goes to the top… if it goes wrong, it does
Double standards
We’re a mess now… that comes from the top for sure

Just as culpable... you can carry on lauding Levy as an amazing chairman and swallow everything he says. It's fine, but I don't and question motives and vision for the club.

There has to be a dividing line in all honesty, those that laud him and on the opposite side those who blame him for every
thing and question his motives and swallow everything they read on T w atter and other outlets.. As they say for some there is no happy medium.

Reading between the lines, sounds to me like Paratici is toast.

Either Paratici is found guilty and leaves the club.
Or is found innocent and is told "sorry mate, you now report to this random Aussie... if you want to... which... you probably.... do....not.........??"

He reported to nedved at juve, who reported to agnelli. So he is used to this arrangement. Might even prefer it if levy moves out of the training ground offices.

From whom?

’Bemusement’ was probably the wrong word. Just surprise that Scott has landed such a big gig. Here’s a few tweets from respected Australian football people who know him well from his time there:

And a couple from people I don’t know

This is why the top of an organisation receives both the plaudits and the lion's share of the financial reward. If the leader at the top didn't matter there would be no need for the position of CEO or chairman.

normally yes, but here, everything that doesn't work is Levy's fault, everything that does is just luck
Its perspective. I see Levy getting credit for our financial development and the general improvement of the clubs standing but then dodging all the criticism of the clubs actual performances.

For me it's simple, he gets the plaudits so I'll also give him the criticism.

PARATICI LODGES APPEAL WITH FIFA OVER WORLDWIDE BAN

Fabio Paratici has officially lodged a formal appeal with FIFA over the decision taken in March to extend globally the 30-month ban imposed on him by the FIGC.

Back in January, Paratici was sanctioned along with a number of other ex-Juventus officials after investigations into the club’s alleged financial mismanagement and capital gains controversy.

The Italian authorities handed Paratici a 30-month ban, which prevented him from having any involvement in footballing activity until 2025.

In March, the FIFA disciplinary commission approved the decision to extend Paratici’s ban globally, meaning he had to immediately leave his position as director of football of Premier League side Tottenham.

Paratici’s global suspension came just days after Tottenham announced they had officially parted company with coach Antonio Conte and subsequently promoted his former assistant Cristian Stellini to interim coach until the end of the season.

Paratici continues to defend himself as he awaits a verdict from the global footballing authorities.

I really hope he wins his appeal and isn’t fired as he has actuality done more than anyone at this club for 5 years to actually get us starting to actlike a big club in our football operation.

Weird call, his record is

- Great re players
- brick re managers

If we got the right manager in, I'd be ok with him on players but if we are dependant on him for the manager, I have concerns

Nuno was literally any port in a storm, we’d been turned down by so many managers at that point that the club with the highest season ticket prices in the PL were in danger of starting the season with no permanent manager. I suspect that Nuno was one of the few managers anyone had heard of that would say yes to the job. Conte, Levy wanted and tried to get before Paratici was at the club.

Completely. Only saving grace if he is banned, thereby leaving us with no option apart from to fire him, is that the groundwork (scouting, prioritisation in each position etc) for the summer window has presumably been done by now. THere's obviously the non inconsiderable job of getting deals over the line, and selling our dross, but we shouldnt be completely laid bare

I fear that we might be in an awkward position where his ban is shortened e.g. to 6-12 months say - would leave Levy with a tough call

I'm not sure how a 30 month ban is legal. Effectively saying that someone can't work in their field of specialism for 2.5 years is ridiculously draconian

He has appointed a couple of quite senior deputies too, which helps with either succession planning or riding out this period of uncertainty.

But hopefully we get someone else to make the managerial call after two bad flops in a row (well three, but two on his watch).

It is legal to ban people from being a director of a company.

As much as we don't like the stench Conte has left, i'm sure Conte getting top 4 within a few months of being hired is viewed as a success...
