Evan Ferguson

Yep agree but there is a 6 to 7 year period where we massively took our eye off the ball, unsurprisingly it coincided with our recent decline.
Same as many clubs
United have struggled on that front too
Arsenal have improved with Edu bringing in Brazilian kids
It does happen
You also need the infrastructure to develop them
Brighton have a Belgian feeder club don’t forget

Got a good review on match of the day, Lineker hinted it wouldn't be a bad idea to spent all the Kane money on him.

Realistically he's better of staying there for a couple of seasons and getting some experience, they have a good manager and setup.

In two years he'll be looking to go to one of the biggest teams if he continues improving. I'd say at the end of the season is our only chance of getting him.

Based on what? We are not going to spend North of £100m for a player any time soon ... thats reserved for clubs that are vying for a title tilt. I think he will have his pick from Chelsea, Man U, Emirates Marketing Project, Liverpool and arsenal from the prem.

I think there should be a wait and see on him regardless of Spurs, looks a talent but its be a tiny window of his career so far, he could be anything on both ends of the scale

He's not moving this season. So the only chance we'd have is at the end of the season. I'm not saying we would get him, could be other bigger teams in but in two seasons time when he has established himself we won't have a chance.

I dont think we have a chance even at this time ... Brighton won't sell cheap and we won't cough up the kind of money being mentioned for him.

It really does depend on how much work the squad needs at the time imv - been a fair bit of turnover the last few seasons, if Ange gets a tune out of the squad as it stands (plus maybe new CF & CB) and we're not in deperate need of strengthening across several positions i think we will start to be in the mix for big money signings.

I would rather we spend that big money on promising players from the championship and lesser leagues. We have a better track record with these signings (if we have more money, just do more of them, or have the extra cash to beat the other top sides), and they won't be on big wages at first, so we can't shift them if they are brick. Once we know they are the real deal, we can give them a salary to suit.

Thats it, if the jigsaw looks complete in other areas then you can add the real heavyweight quality in future windows. Thats surely the aim? At the minute its CB that looks key at the moment, followed arguably by LB. But beyond that we are stacked elsewhere. As you say if Ange gets a tune from them this season, who is to say the future 150m windows won't be spread over 2/3 players?

Even the potential talent comes at a premium now because of what Chelsea and Co have done to the market

Can do both, 1-2 top quality players for now and 1-2 for the future.

We won’t know where we are weka until January IMO

Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson, 18, is on Arsenal's radar for next summer, with Tottenham put off by Brighton's £100m valuation. (Football Transfers)
£40m with £60m in add ons would cover both clubs?
