ENIC

They are apparently going to invest whether it takes to get it up and running. Can’t see it logistically, but if you are a billionaire, selling a few paintings may be worth the punt

Love this line in the Bloomberg story, just who can you trust with private information and where were Eight Sports Capital when Levy needed the money ?

Levy first requested an extension to the timetable, said a person close to the Lewis family who asked not to be identified because the information was private.

obviously not on the same page re: the large investments we need/are having right now in the playing squad.

Or doesn't have the capital to invest
I posted this in the other thread....

He can sell his shares to whomever he wants. If someone came in at the price he wanted...the deal gets done.

Secondly, The amounts the Lewis's have put in will dilute his holding if they have converted that injection into stock. But the amount they put in is not going to shift his % downwards by much. Furthermore he potentially gets something for that injection. Obviously the 'investment' is intended to make the business better...so it becomes more valuable...so your share (even if reduced slightly) becomes more valuable.

What I guess Levy is weighing up....is he could match their investment to hold his share % as it is BUT as he has no control or active management of the club anymore will be committing £200-300m to an ongoing project that he might simply think 'is being run by idiots' ...so won't make that bet.

It depends on how much the overall value goes up whether the value of his shares go up, even if the overall % he owns goes down.
He wouldn't need to commit 2-300m, he'd need to invest 30% (or whatever % of ENIC that he currently owns) of the overall amount of new equity that is put into ENIC to keep his share the same.

If he thinks it's being run by idiots then he'd be cashing out. But I reckon he still sees the value increasing once we get back to the top end of the table and there's more interest in a buyout.

He's also previously had discussions with people prepared to buy the club, so will be well aware of what his percentage is worth in a buy-out.

It's all 'potentials'.

With the way the relationship ended and I'd guess 'disagreements' in the way it was/is run...I doubt Levy wants to put any lump sum in. Plus, he might not even have the capacity to do that.

He can ride their investment as a free shot at ramping this business up. (And the value of his diluted share).

Alternatively he may want out..He may want to sell....but if the saleroom is empty...what ya gonna do🤷

Overall though, he's probably thinking, in a general sense, at least someone is running it and throwing money at it to try and restore our position in the game...rather than bleeding it dry or asset stripping.

From the Lewis's side ..Maybe they're trying to dilute Levy to under 25%?...to limit the tools he has as a minority shareholder.
