Christian Eriksen

That's a fair distance.

That free kick is amazing. One of the best I have seen. Reminds me of a D Beckham one from good while back.

That free kick is insane .. the distance, angle, fact that he used his right foot (you would think the angle dictated left foot shot), the keeper didn't even move, the hit on inside of post ...

Really not sure I've seen better ..

The Beckham one I'm thinking of was the same. Right foot shot curling away into the 'wrong' corner. That one by Eriksen trumps it by some distance though.

I'm not sure if it is physically saveable by a keeper standing in a normal sensible position given the trajectory. I know Howard takes a pace to his left first but even if he had stayed still I'm not sure he could have got under/over/round it.

I finally think he's better in the middle then on the left.
He got Bale levels of stick last night during the game in the omt. People expect him constantly creating chances even though he was doing a defensive job tracking back most of the game.

I have said he was class, right from the start, as my post record will show. My main concerns have been firstly that Poch went through a phase of subbing him off early or even not starting him. He should be second on the team sheet after Lloris and play every minute of every league game unless we are winning very comfortably, or he is injured. My other worry is that he needs to be on the ball, and dictating play. He can't do that from a wide position. I don't know where he prefers to play, but if it is central and we keep sticking him wide, it is one more reason he might have to leave. I think he could play central in a 4-3-3- or floating as one of the two DMs in a 4-2-3-1. Playing centrally, and a little deeper, would make the most of his talent. We need to build the team around a strong spine - ???? - Kane- Eriksen - ??? - Lloris.

With the free kick I'm sure the keeper thought it was going wide. By the time he realised it wasn't it was too late.

I liked the second better, though, because it takes real class to finish with that kind of composure. You see him take a quick look for position, and to get the timing right on how long to let the ball run on for before clipping it left is so difficult. Soldado could do with taking some lessons.

he is really putting them in and establishing himself as one of the finest free kick specialists in the epl.

now if he can make his presence felt throughout the game consistently in regular gameplay, he will be one step closer to world class.

i agree - that slow torturous roll to the back post... i kept replaying that goal just to look at the keeper's agonizing face knowing that it would just roll into goal unchallenged.

So last night the front line had him primarily on the left of Kane with Lamela on the right. Do we think this is an experiment worth persisting with?? It certainly allowed Dembele to play a different game and going into the future, would allow us to mix things up a bit with regards to the central midfield. On the downside, Chadli is sidelined.

It was a good performance from Mousa but he is down the pecking order. Chadli, Kane and Eriksen should all play. The other positions are up for grabs in my mind.

-------------Bentaleb------Mason---------------

--Lamela---------Eriksen------------Chadli----

----------------------Kane--------------------------

Still my preferred line up right now.

It's the one that works

I would like to see a pacey RW option, and the variation on the above would be either replace Lamela or bring RW in, push Lamela behind Kane/alongside Eriksen

At the expense of Chadli? I would have agreed with you but that performance v Chelsea was outstanding

I agree, absolutely mental! I thinkGlenn struck a few beauties, and Bale has too, but this is right up there alongside them. Makes no sense still.

Since Eriksen is from Denmark, hope he will try to emulate his fellow countryman the legendary Allan Nielsen who scored that injury-time winning goal in the 1999 Worth.Cup final.

You can't save that even if you tried, it's as simple as that.

I was watching his crossbar challenge again on the club’s youtube channel, they had another goal behind the other and he was even hitting the crossbar of that with ease, out of 12 attempts he hit a crossbar 10 times.

From a purely technical perspective he is pretty much perfect, I can't think of anything he can't do.

Positively Greaves-like; he passed it into the net.

Eriksen is out "Get out of jail free" card.
