Bass Players?

Ever thought of getting a plectrum for it? Can get thicker ones for bass

Fair point. But Im more into slapping and funk bass style, so not really plectrum oriented. I'm sure if I persisted it would get easier. But I was surprised at how the difficult the right hand technique is, given that I'm a pretty competent guitarist, with and without a pick. Chapeau bassists.

Guess I ought to give the Status a run out again.

Have a look at Jean-Jacques Burnel from The Stranglers.

He can play a bass guitar like it was lead or rythym at times.

Love JJ.

Mate of mine was sharing a dressing room with Nick Beggs when he played with Art Nouveau, took me back and we shared a few sherbets together, they really could play despite the stick they now get. Said to him you'll be on TOTP and he didn't believe me.

Love Mark king's work too, my tiniest claim to a blue plaque is that the guy who played brass with Level 42 in the studio and on stage without actually being credited as a band member grew up in the house I now own.

Honourable mention too to Marlon Recchi.
