Antonin Kinsky

Looks like he's definitely in for Leeds....think we just keep him in now for the last two as well.
We are settled with him, and he could well be contributing with his passing. So, as the small percentages need to be looked after we can't risk anything. A change is an adjustment in itself, let's hold off and roll with Toni
Yeah De Zerbi said Vicario is not back for Leeds

I'm massively speculating here, but I think all the noise around Vic's move to Inter has probably clarified RDZ's thinking here - let's stick with someone whose mind is clear and not potentially elsewhere.

Listening to his press conference it didn't sound like that at all - RDZ spoke about how Vicario is not ready yet, but is suffering because he would like to help the team and his team mates. To be honest I get the feeling he would be put back into the team if available, he's mentioned a few times in press conferences about Vicario being an important player....

Yep, all highly possible. I concede I'm likely reaching here - I'm just surprised how much noise there has been around the Inter move, seemingly all agreed if you believe some sources. If you do work on the basis of it all being true, I'm not sure how you can put him back in the team.

It is probably a load of old cobblers though and the truth is a lot closer to the version you outline.

What is undeniable is how impressive Kinsky has been on his return. I'd keep him in now for the run in. If it ain't broke...

I'm with you. So much of this permeates from the training ground and Kinsky has been part of every session with RDZ. It is unlikely that Vic will be as clued up as Kinsksy on how RDZ wants his defensive unit to operate. You have the specific instructions to the GK's, especially the guidelines on when to clear lines and when to play with the ball at your feet.

How much of this Vic has been a part of, I'm not sure we know.

Owns the shirt and keeps the shirt
Can’t really ask him to do much more
Well, Vicario got injured...and he's still out injured.
Its possible Vicario would still own the shirt, and would never have lost it if he hadn't got injured.
I do think Kinsky has done well overall since he's been in there.
Anyway, as mentioned above...do you see Kinsky as a long term no.1? What are your thoughts on that specifically?

Vicario has gone

Kinksy is number 1 till end of season

I fully expect a new number 1 next season
Vicario is a (slightly) better keeper, but Kinsky is more suited to the brand of football De Zerbi wants to play. For me, the differential is that Kinsky might pull off a great save every now and then (if he hadn't against Wolves, the mood would be quite different) while Vicario's passing isn't likely to improve in the short run.

That's why I'd stick with Kinsky until the end of the season. If we stay up, I hope the club will finally overhaul the playing squad and that would mean getting a new number one, but I think Kinsky has done enough to deserve a loan to a decent side next season.

Vicario is being sold next season, without doubt and Kinksy won't be number 1.

I would take Pickford as my choice but realise the snobbery won't allow it here. But he would be

From what I gathered of De Zerbi's football, you need a goalkeeper who's good on the ball and who's fast enough to play in a sweeper-keeper role, a la Neuer. Being good on the line is a bonus. Pickford is a quality keeper but I'm not sure he fits that bill, although I'm sure we'll be able to find someone who does.

Cop out response I know but.. maybe
I think he has potential to become great
He does need to work on shot stopping from distance and the simple thing (to a non keeper) of reactions
But one of his strengths already is elite and it’s one that some great keepers can’t do (Vic and donnyrunna for a start) … passing a ball
The key is does the value of that strength outweigh the weaknesses today

Yep, and he's 6'3 and only just turned 23...and I sometimes forget that after this season he will still have 5 years left on his contract here.
I also like his ability and willingness to come off his line to claim or clear high balls in our box which I feel has helped us a lot in recent games.

Didn’t realize that. Looks shorter to me but googled it and you are correct.

I agree Vic is done for the season and probably his THFC career. We should only move for a more senior replacement if he is significantly better than Kinsky IMO. Otherwise let’s develop him further and see how he matures.
