American politics

It didn't invade Venezuela. At least not yet. Do you honestly believe this has nothing to do with oil reserves?

For someone who sees everything through the lens of money you seem rather shortsighted on the economics of renewables.
They would have had to stop a country on their doorstep that was building Russian munitions and importing Iranian drones regardless.

The oil just makes it pay for itself.

If they were a western democracy that gave access to their oil then no. There are plenty of other regimes in the world that are just as bad as Venezuela, the only thing different here is oil. They're such a threat that the US can just walk in, capture their president and walk back out in the space of a few hours.
How many other countries are as physically close to the US with such close ties to Iran, Russia and China?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Nicaragua get closer to Russia and then the US gets involved there.

But mostly, South America has been cured of the communist disease and it should thank the US for it.

Venezuela are not going to threaten the US. That is ridiculous. It's oil and the petrodollar driving this, not weapon production.

And if you haven't noticed Russia is not really an adversary to the US anymore. That would be Europe, bizarrely.

That's good news. I'll look forward to the Russian munitions factories completing their first batch of cuddly unicorn toys any day now.

Almost as much as I'll look forward to those Iranian drones being used for a Pride display.

Well seeing how Russia is bogged down in the Ukraine war currently, and coincidently the same for Iran's drone program, then I would not hold your breath for either happening. Though tbh the Pride line just reads as a cheap dig, which says more about your attitude than about Venezuela, Russia or Iran.

Any gonads Trump pulls is sold with the 'security' 'peace' 'doing good' stickers.....it's all about muscling in on resources, minerals, land £££.
Trump views everything as transactional. One thing i would say though about Venezuelan oil is that Venezuela have been enabling Russia, China and North Korea to evade US tariffs and sanctions so this move while likely allowing the US to muscle in on Venezuelan oil production and supply, is also a serious blow to Russia/China in the recent economic warfare that's been raging.....
