That is an excellent selling point. I hardly ever watched the AFCON as usually there is other club football on which holds my interest. In the middle of the summer, when I am getting a little antsy with the lack of football on TV this would sate my footballing thirst .Guess it's not too big an upheaval for African football, seeing as half the continent is in each hemisphere.
Good to have something to watch in odd years (cf WCs and Euros in even years)

Seriously though it is a great idea which might generate more worldwide interest in the tournament. At the moment I don't think it is generating the interest it potentially could outside of Africa as it is competing with league fixtures.
What do our African posters think of this change?
Kenya very rarely qualifies for the ACONIt will be very nice to see Victor being his beast like self, on the television.
I suspect the winter World Cup brought issues to a head. Weather apart, probably a good thing.

It doesn't make a difference. It just means it will be hotter when they are hosted in northern Africa (where June-Jul is summer), but cooler when they are in southern Africa (where June-Jul is winter)
