Was just reading r/coys and someone on there made a good point - Walker got a big hip problem after a season of not being rotated and Poch is probably concerned and trying to prolong his career.

In which case, we shouldn't be too harsh on Walker. It's a natural crossroads and parting of ways. Poch protecting his player, Walker wanting to maximise his earnings if he feels he's being told he's on the way down, or just doesn't agree with it.

I'd guess if we sell him domestically, it will be because we know something about him that we feels suggests a debilitation. If he goes abroad, I'd say it's because we feel his best years are still to come.

Like Fergie predicting Rooney's decline and not wanting to give him that ridiculous new contract before he left, I'm hoping Poch knows best here.

This is where you simply have to trust the manager. He will sell who he feels he wants to or can live without.

Big clubs will always be open to subversion. Man Utd dealt with it for years! We need to get used to it, we need to appreciate that there are agents out there who will be scummier than others, and we need to trust the manager.

Under Poch we do play a very physical pressing style and the full backs get the worse of it. I do wonder if when kane gets to 28ish whether he might just suddenly drop, it happened to robbie keane.

If Walker goes, it's a year too soon for KWP, imo. He hasn't really had a chance to integrate into the first-team squad yet (although, iirc, he did go to that training camp in Barcelona with the rest of the first-team lads back in Jan/Feb).

It is a year too soon for KWP...if he goes I'd be happy to see us go Bertrand personally, he and Trippier would both do a fine job. It would cost us but I think we could get him.
I don't see Poch letting this drag on past mid-June. By the time we are back in pre-season, this will have been sorted one way or another...

I am usually with you, but this is different. Today's stories are a combination of two sources if you read between the lines; the agent and then the club. Agent touting player due to offers received. Club putting forth their reasons. We shall see. But in this case there is no smoke without fire, and FULL credit to Poch for not allowing it any more oxygen than the agent can muster.

Bertrand is a left back mate
 
My brain-fart does highlight a couple of things. One, I still forget my left from my right sometimes, but more importantly, there is a shortage of quality right-backs/wing-backs in the division. It leaves Antonio as one of the few viable options (although the Pikeys hate us and a sale would be tough) plus I am not convinced he is consistently good enough. He does fit the ticket so far as Prem experience, strength and being good with his head too, but can he do it consistently at a club where the pressure is real? It will be an interesting situation but In Poch I Trust.

Seems a decent chap. Talking about how he hoped Spurs win the semi final.

I've never seen him do much transfer story stuff before.

As for Walker. There's no replacing him. Trippier doesn't have anywhere near Walker's sheer physically.
Even on Sunday when he was only on for a few minutes you couldn't help marvel at that run he made.

Trippier is a good crosser but that's it.

I don't see why your view of KWP would be any different this time next year if he were to spend the season not playing though, which is what would happen if you were to bring in another RB. You'd then be faced with the decision as to which RB to sell, but then why would you want to sell one of them to make room for a kid who hasn't played? At some point you'll need to take that leap of faith but I don't think pushing it a year down the line will make it any easier.
