Transfer speculation

I know Wolfsburg are struggling this season and am surprised they have Bazoer playing for them as i really rate him, has anyone followed his form out there?

You drive a hard bargain, I am pleased that I have never had to negotiate with you

I know it takes real tenacious and hard bargaining to get deals like these done..........I'm prepared to throw in a youngster like say Dele to swing the deal. I really want to see Zaha at the new WHL............

Honest question: what has Zaha got in his locker than GKN hasn't - apart from being acclimatised to the PL for many more years?

Pace is an option which we don't have in attacking areas - I think Poch realises as shown through the Njie and GKN signings. Unfortunately Njie is crap and GKN needs to go on loan for a full season similar to how Danny Rose went to Sunderland for a year. The other problem with GKN is that he wants to play as an out and out winger, which isn't really suited to our formation and takes up the space which our full backs use

Like Rose maybe he could become an awesome wing back...

GKN looks to be more an out and out winger, that goes outside. Zaha plays more like an "inverted" winger. He attacks the goal while GKN attacks space. Zaha is decent with both feet, both shooting and passing. GKN looks more limited in that sense. Zaha is stronger and better in the air as well. I like both. They offer pace and trickery in different ways, but I'm in no doubt that today, Zaha is the better player. Quite comfortably.

Well, i would have to start questioning Poch if Zaha comes in AND GKN is shipped out, after all the shenanigans last summer

Why?
It is about money. He wanted him and didn't get him. He can then look and say to DL 'look, the backups didn't work out so well'...

His good to bad performance ratio is worse.
He is inconsistent.
In the last few important games, Townsend has been the outstanding winger and MoM for them. Sam has got him playing on the left and his work rate has gone up.
But people on here won't like that. If Poch wants Zaha then we should get him as we do need someone with a bit of directness and trickery.

I would break the bank for Ousmane Dembele though and see if Bale is available with his poor record with injuries.

I'm all for giving young players a chance but I don't think that we have seen anything from him to justify that level of faith in him.

I think that he was signed as a bit of a punt and to fill a space in the squad. If Poch doesn't fancy him after a season, I see no problem with letting him go and we should be able to get most or all of our money back.

Can we really say that GKN has had a chance to show that? In fact, when he has played in the PL (whenever that was) did he show that he couldn't perform?

I think that the conclusion that we can draw from that is that Poch doesn't feel that he has done enough in training to warrant game time in the PL.

Has GKN had any good performances in the PL?
I think he's done ever so well in his short cameos. Can't remember which game it was, but he totally changed the game when he came on. He doesn't hide, and he always tries to do something progressive and creative. He certainly hasn't been bad!! But you can't really make ANY judgement on him, as he's played only a total of 135 minutes in all competitions! 47 in PL. But I think he's got something.

I don't remember him totally changing a game for us. I think that there may be an element of wanting him to do well turning a competent performance into a game changer.

I'm not writing the player off and I am not saying that he is bad. He has certainly looked willing whenever he has come on.

I just don't think that we have seen enough from him to say that we shouldn't sign a player in his position.

Poch has seen a lot of him in training, he is probably the most pro-youth manager in the league. If he was performing in training, I am sure that we would have seen a lot more of him in the league this season. As it stands, it looks like he is behind Onomah in the pecking order.
