Vincent Janssen

I hope everyone keeps patient with him because I think he can be a real player for us once he settles.

I agree, he is the perfect hold up player and his first touch is first class. I am hoping that we see him teamed up with Kane eventually because i see the two of the working well together.

I don't know if there's enough pace in that partnership, though. It might be brilliant against teams that sit back, but if we're trying to hit teams on the break or stretch the play against a similarly high line (as against Arsenal), I think a more conventional Kane/Janssen + Son partnership would be better suited.

He has one. Sung at Boro for about 5 mins solid. Do-do-do do-do-do Vincent Janssen (Holtby song)

That'll do fine - it's just that he needs to hear his name echoing around the ground, whether he scores or not. Unlike Soldado, Janssen seems like an overly professional, self-contained guy, and he hasn't had to suffer personal tragedy the way Soldado did (when his wife miscarried) - but I think he'd still appreciate the gesture, and if Soldado's time here offers any lessons, it's that strikers in bad form appreciate the support, regardless of their personal circumstances.

.

You may have a point with that, however there is only one way to find out is to give it a try and i think it could/should work.

True. And we'll have the opportunity to do so, so we may as well give it a go - not like playing them together will hurt us defensively or anything, because they both graft well. So it's a low-risk move.

Where am I bottling it?
Loved the City result, what right minded Spurs fan would not. But that's history. Poch has only one problem, that is what his boss thinks. Not what you or I think.

This is not a forgiving industry and Poch can thank his lucky stars the Mourinho is making a pig's ear of things. He will be compared to his fellow managers no matter how much he wont like ATM its human nature.

But lets see what Sunday brings.........
If Poch has only his boss to worry about, what does Mourinho have to do with anything?? You think Poch needs to thank his lucky stars because his boss is distracted by Mourinho making a mess of things?

More the press and media attention!
Not Levy.

Glad to say Sunday was a huge boost!
My gooner plumber just left our house, he was very unhappy about Sunday :p

Just gone off for Holland in their game against Belgium after 25 mins

Clashed into Mignolet just a couple of mins ago and looked quite dizzy when coming off

I think the perceived lack of pace will be countered by their clever movement, they won't need the speed as they'll have created enough space between them and the defender.

And if Vinny points into space and yells "look, there's Elvis!" the defender will look, giving him a head start.

Blind concern over Janssen concussion

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen is a major doubt for Netherlands' World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg after suffering concussion.

Vincent Janssen lost 20 minutes of his memory after a heavy collision with Simon Mignolet in Netherlands' 1-1 friendly draw against Belgium.

Davy Klaassen gave Danny Blind's team a 38th-minute lead from the penalty spot in Amsterdam, by which time Stijn Schaars and Janssen had already been forced out of the action.

Jeremain Lens suffered a pulled hamstring before Yannick Carrasco hit a deflected equaliser eight minutes from time, but it was the injury to Tottenham striker Janssen that caused the most concern to Blind ahead of Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.

"Vincent Janssen is going to be a very difficult story," he told reporters.

"The physician told me it is a concussion. He lost 20 minutes of his memory, and doesn't know what happened.

"We have to be careful with that and talk it through."

Wesley Sneijder captained Netherlands on his 125th international appearance, leaving him second only to Edwin van der Sar's 130 on the all-time list.

"Until we conceded a goal, we didn't give away chances," he said. "The organisation was good, but lacked in creativity."

"We should be more confident with the ball, and play more efficiently. All in all it's a deserved draw."

He might forget his form for us too and come back as Messi.

Same brick every time a player gets concussion.

He should not be anywhere near a training pitch this week.
He should not be a doubt for whatever bricky international he's playing.

There is a real danger for anyone who gets a concussion of Second Impact Syndrome.

Second-impact syndrome (SIS) occurs when the brain swells rapidly, and catastrophically, after a person suffers a second concussion before symptoms from an earlier one have subsided. This second blow may occur minutes, days or weeks after an initial concussion,[1] and even the mildest grade of concussion can lead to SIS.[2] The condition is often fatal, and almost everyone who is not killed is severely disabled. The cause of SIS is uncertain, but it is thought that the brain's arterioles lose their ability to regulate their diameter, and therefore lose control over cerebral blood flow, causing massive cerebral edema.[2]

I have no faith the dutch doctors know what they are doing.

We sent Lloris back on that time dangerously after a concussion. We had Davies stumbling around the pitch after a concussion before being taken off.
And that's the response from a country for plays rugby where doctors are way ahead in this area.

Tottenham should be on the phone demanding he is pulled out of the Dutch squad.
It's only Luxembourg. Even if was a competitive game it still doesn't matter he shouldn't be training.
