Big Summer Clearout?

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/gylfi-sigurdsson/leistungsdaten/spieler_90466.html

This data shows that Sigurdsson has not played CM yet.He is doing brilliantly for Swansea in the AM role,it's a bit of a mystery why he was getting such low ratings in Germany.
Anyhow,if Modric leaves,I hope Huddlestone will replace him,he has already proven what a great player he can be for us.

Striker
Bale- VdV - Lennon
Huddlestone-Parker

If we sell Modric,I d really like us to splash out the money on a world class and proven striker.Adebayor is great, but his first touch lets him down very often and his finishing is mediocre.

world class stiker that would actually want to come to us rather than go to a perennial CL team, is asking a bit much i think.

do you have anyone in mind?

Not Played cm for Hoffenheim or Swansea but he definately has for Reading.

Agree with you, it's not easy, but Atletico did it with Falcao last year, so you never know

Llorente is the closest to a class unit within our reach we could hope for. If there's even a remote possibly Bilbao would sell (slim) - we should go all out for his man who's quite frankly a better, stronger and more technical Ade. And we all know what impact the Togolese had on our season

Adebayor, Llorente , And Remy are all gettable depending on circumstances. Ba will be hard now being that Saudi Sportswashing Machine are flying high but we'd still stand a good chance IMO. Soldado , Rossi and Negredo are not what we need. Hmmmm who else is there?

As for Huddlestone being the replacement for Luka? Dear GHod no.

Well,it's a bit similar like Man United with Ronaldo/Valencia.

We won't be able to replace Luka like for like, that's for sure. But Huddlestone is the next best thing we have at the club and we mustn't forget that the main CM partnership that brought us 4th place was Huddlestone-Palacios.

Torres would most likely opt to stay based on a glimpse hope of decent form. I still think Drogba would leave along with Kalou leaving them in the run to sign a top striker and one which we could have monitored ourselves.

How about Lukaku? He's been frozen out and generally out of favour - cheeky bid

How can Ade be 'gettable' on 225k a week?

Soldado is a decent shout, btw

I think Lukaku may be kicking himself about this move. At least Di Matteo has got Drogba playing again. Watching his hero play like crap whilst getting zero playing minutes himself mustn't have been the best of feelings.

If Drogba is looking to leave Chelsea,Harry will be all over him, thats for sure.

Lukaku is a total mystery,he could very well be a total flop or an amazing signing.I would take him for 5-8 mill € tho

Here's my take on everyone.

2013KEEP - Send out on loan for some game time! (4x STR)

So that's:

5 GKs (2 out on loan) - Need to look at bringing through another youngster for the development squad so as to find a new number 1 for the season after.

6 CBs (2 out on loan) - Need another one for the development squad and to bring in another top class CB which will drop one of Kaboul, Dawson, Gallas or Caulker down to 5th choice. Hope Caulker gets game time though.
3 LBs (1 out on loan) - Need at least one for the development squad. Ekotto to have Naughton as backup unless we bring a new LB in to challenge for a first team place.
4 RBs (2 out on loan) - Naughton to push Walker for a first team place. Smith and Byrne enough for development squad for now.

3 LW/M - Andros Townsend to get more game time as Bale and Pienaar find themselves rotating around the midfield spots. This may need to be reviewed! Need one more for development squad.
2 RW/M (1 out on loan) - Really need to look at bringing in a quality right winger to challenge Lennon otherwise people are getting played out of position. Need one more for development squad.

6 DMC (2 out on loan) - Healthy here with Parker, Sandro, Livermore and the return of the Hudd if needed in this position. Development squad is fine.
5 MC (2 out on loan) - Modric, Huddlestone and Livemore with one of the DMCs covering if needed. One more for development squad as Carroll gets more game time on loan.

5 AMC/CF (3 out on loan) - Well stocked in this position should we play 4-4-1-1 often. VDV backed up by Falque or even Pienaar, Bale, Modric etc... No need for any more for development squad.
4 STR (3 out on loan) - Need two quality purchases here plus one more should Defoe be sold. Kane, Lancaster and Oyenuga need to step up more on loan and decision the season after made on development squad strikers.

So promote from development squad 1x GK (squad), 1x CB (challenge first team), 1x RB/LB (challenge first team), 1x LW (squad), 1x AMC/CF (squad) - (5 players)
Sell/release first team squad players 2x GK, 3x CB, 1x RB, 1x LM/W, 1x RM/W, 1x MC, 3 STR - (12 players)

That leaves us with 22 players not out on loan (Hudd, Livemore and Naughton are covering 2 positions) and 2 U-21s in Townsend and Caulker. Squad size 20.

So buy at a minimum to challenge for a place in the first team 1x CB, 1x RW, 2x STR. Squad size 24.

Ekotto, Kaboul and Walker have to go.

Assuming Redknapp is their target, I could see it turning into a game of chicken between the FA and Levy, with them dragging their heels on an offer, while DL holds out for compensation. Levy might not be the one to blink first in that scenario, but we could end up seriously shafted next season if that's how it pans out. Whatever happens, I don't think we'll see anywhere near the amount of player movement as is being suggested, though. Fifteen or more players? Can't see it myself.
