The General Transfer Rumours and Speculation Thread

This could just be his agent doing his job, but Boufal is a player that I'd like to see us try to get. The problem for us (apart from teams like Barca, Chelsea and Arsenal apparently being interested) is that he's just had knee surgery and might not be back for another 4 months. This might be why his agent is mentionning Barca, likely trying to keep interest up in his client and pushing for clubs to make a move this summer before it is too late. If we do go in for him, I'd imagine the medical team would be thorough in their testing of the knee.

Troy Deeney 25 mil smacks of worse than desperation

He's clearly not worth that however it confirms that Vardy is off, and I'm guessing for a not dis-similar price. Ranieri is obviously after someone as like-for-like as possible so that they can continue with their playing system next year. Deeney therefore makes sense given that they would keep punting the ball over the top for him to run on to. Any CF with PL experience and a bit of pace will automatically be expensive

Rumour going round he turned it down after seeing the extent of the medical he'd have had to have undergone

Ray Parlour is supposed to have let that slip on the radio

Yes, I can see why this might suggest a full-on medical could be an issue :

'The last time I lifted a weight? Probably that can of Red Bull the other day,' said the Leicester forward.
I don't go to the gym, if I did it will slow me down. I don't go in for weights or anything like that.

On the concoction of nicotine and caffeine, Vardy added: 'It's just something I've always done and they've been checked with the medical team and there's nothing wrong with them.
'I wouldn't call it a diet, the Red Bull was just to wake me up in the morning. It's just standard me, a bit of Red Bull. It's not a regular thing whereby I have a Red Bull every morning.'

I don't know enough about Wenger to comment on his possible reaction to the above but I have an inkling he would not figure in the Poch top 100 list of potential targets.
