Are we cursed?
We drew the first and second placed teams in the League/FA cup, the group of death in our group draw and now the clear favourites and the best team in the competition !
Ffs !! When are we going to get an easy draw!??

Colchester United?

On a positive, it must be the game of the round and a real glamour tie in a fantastic, atmospheric stadium.
Oh, wait I forget about the inevitable tossfest between the two has beens.

The two most famous teams in the universe...

i think our players know it will be hard so they will have to play at a certain level. The danger when you play so called weaker teams is that the players may not play at their highest level and come unstuck.

A shame Ali will miss the game over nothing
Yea he will be absolutely gutted as a young footballer. These are the nights you want most of all.

Has anybody been watching Dortmund closely this year, and can give a lowdown on how we might have a chance against them?
What are their strengths and weakneses etc?

I'm looking at @Armchair Expert for particular guidance here;)

Not the draw I would have picked but I need TP for my bunghole. I wonder how many fans who think this is a mickey mouse cup will try to get tickets.:)

Quality. This is what it's all about. What a time to be a spurs fan.

Swansea, West Ham, Arsenal, Dortmund, Villa, Dortmund.

We should all be licking our lips, we're spoiled.

If it doesn't make me somewhat happy that we're out of the FA-cup it at the very least makes that a whole lot easier to accept.

He might wanna ease up on those double training sessions for a few weeks lol

Still plenty of room for double training sessions. Triple training sessions might get suspended for 10-12 days ;)

Out two games per week stretch now continues until the international break....I wonder what Poch will do for the league games after the Dortmund games - Villa and Bournemouth. They look easier on paper, however we cant afford to drop points in them.

The main positions where we lack top cover at CB, DM and CF. Kane, Dier and Alder will be knackered if they play all of the games between now and Easter

They've only lost 3 games in the league all season.
Very similar record to us. It's such a tasty encounter for the neutrals as well.

Out title rivals could not have been happier with that.

Dunno, but will probably catch the Bundelsiga highlights package for the next couple of weeks.

ITV4
Sat 07:35 - last weekend's fixtures ?
Mon 23:05 - this weekend's fixtures
Thu 23:20 - mid-week matches ?

Best find them for yourselves, but the ITV player has lots. +/- 60min episodes

I saw them lose to Hamburger SV live in Hamburg. They were absolute brick. Of course, they aren't brick, but on that day they were atrocious and lost to a very, very poor HSV team. I think if we have Dier and Dembele fit we can win in midfield. We are going to concede a couple I'd imagine as their front three are scary. Nonetheles, i definitely feel we can win. IMO its too close to call. But they are beatable. The hype around them is slightly OTT IMO, its their first season under Tuchel and, again IMO, the BL is weak this year.

If Hamburg, Stuttgart etc were in the prem, they would be doing an Aston Villa. I think its too close to call. If we can go to Dortmund and show our normal strength and not buckle under the pressure we can win. I wanted this draw and I think we'll do them.

Just to add to that, i think if we can handle the situation and the pressure over there (which i think we will) we have better concentration, are more solid, more organised and i think over 180 minutes that could be the deciding factor. The only problem is they have zero to play for in the league. They will rest everyone for both legs. Nailed on for second with virtually zero chance of moving up or down.

Thanks. A few further questions:

- If we had instead drawn Leverkusen, how would you rate our chances against them in comparison to against Dortmund? Would you be more or less confident?
- You say if we play Dier and Dembele we'd win the midfield; who plays in the centre for them? I assume Sven Bender and others? How is Sven Bender doing these days?
- How do our defences compare, considering the BL vs PL?
