Transfer Rumour Thread

If they want him, then fine. That will be £60m please. Pay it and he can go, don't and you can f off. I completely agree with @milo in that he would have to be made to leave the club currently to go to a place where he will hardly play. This may even be his agent wanting a better contract.

Hmmm....imagine of that were true?

I like what I've seen of Vardy.

We can't buy a CF coming into their peak with Kane already on board. We either need an 18/19 YO happy to learn their trade, or an old timer wanting a final payday. Vardy might just be starting to hit the latter.

Saying that, I wonder if Immobile might be worth punt with his stock a bit down at the moment?
I like the sound of the guy in Belgium, 27 years old but been coming into his own for the last 18 months, a late starter and then tend to work a little harder, he is meant to be a real hard worker fitting in with poch's playing style. Someone with a more physical presence and not stupid expensive fee or wages. Would work for me, also like the sound of Embolo for the younger signing or the lad at wolves whose name I have completely forgotten.

You mean akpom, the ex Arsenal player?

My mates who have seen him think he is another Defoe in the making and rate him really highly

I like the look of Embolo personally but just see him going to a lesser club for more game s

afobe, fast and good striking i like him, seen him live and he looked the business

City/ManU or the like will bid for Vardy IMHO. Will go for silly money.

He is the new Harry Kane. So name the price!

There some very good strikers out there for us to go for with likes of Afobe

I don't believe they'd be remotely interested in Vardy! 28 years old with very limited achievements so far in his career. Completely different to Kane who is a young CF breaking through. If Vardy moves next summer, I'd expect a move to West Ham, Stoke or someone of that level

He scores goals, they all will be very interested. I can see £25m ish as an opening bid, by the big clubs. (not us)

Thought!..... a replacement for Daniel Sturridge?

Absolutely zero chance! £25m for a CF who turns 29 in Jan and was playing for Fleetwood as recently as 2012?!?!?

Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright, Toto Schillaci. All lower league forwards who only moved into the top flight and international teams in their late 20s.

Back-up CF is like back-up GK. We don't need someone at their peak with Kane as our Lloris. We need either a Vorm equivalent (but obviously better than Vorm) or a McGee equivalent.

Personally don't see any big side go for Vardy

He has done incredibly well considering his path to the top but he is 28 and is in the best form of his life

It would be a big gamble for anyone and I couldn't see him leaving to be fair

Remains to be seen how Liverpool operate in the transfer market under Klopp but Vardy would have been a typical signing for them over the last few years...

Disagree. They have typically signed younger players in a similar mould to us, however most have been from overseas

They brought in Milner who is obviously at the latter end of his career and lambert because he was cheap cover but generally they have been looking at lower age higher possible return players. Problem they have had is the higher cost ones have generally been brick (Markovic for example or Lovren)

Mate, they have bought across the spectrum (I absolutely cannot fathom the plan, nor can most Pool fans), horribly overpriced English players (starting with Carroll), horribly overpriced PL mid table buys (Lovren, Lallana, etc.), horribly overpriced overseas players (Firmino) you likely never heard of ... actually maybe the commonality is horribly overpriced (Rodgers bought 31 players for £291M)

Milner is on horrendous wages, Vardy is exactly the type of panic/stupid buy they have been making (Benteke for 32M when no one has any idea what Pool system he would fit in?)

But they were mainly brought young with a view of growth in value

The problem they had was the fees they paid meant these players had to improve another 100% to gain any value

Look at Can for example. They paid about £6m for him and he is a good player, potentially a great player

Yes they have brought brick for big money but they have also brought decent players for less

I still think there philosophy is the same as ours but when they had money to burn they were poor at it.. Much like we were
