**** Tottenham Hotspur vs Qarabag FK OMT****

he has literally no right foot.

Liar.
I don't know who you are talking about, but that is a lie.

That was a good win. They were a pretty decent side and although it was a mixed performance, lots of neat play mixed in with some sloppy mistakes. A typical Spurs performance really. Good to see our youngsters getting a chance. Thought Winks did well with the little time he had and we have definately got a star in the making with Alli. Considering he was playing league 1 football last season he has made the step up well.
Glad Lamela got his goal he had a bit of a mare I thought but you cant fault his work rate

Qarabag were decent. Great experience for the lads.
There was a huge gap in our midfield between our front four and our midfield two at times. That Richard had all the space in the world at times. Rose also had one of his worst games for a while. But we were keen to get on the ball and play some football.

Anderlecht and Monaco to come. Should be fun and games

Lies! They play in an unfashionable league and nobody's ever heard of them, they must be brick.

Glad to see Son get started, and very relieved that Lamela got his goal in that game. He deserved it. Thought he played a pretty good game.

Alli showed glimpses of magic today, such an exciting player. What a steal for us! Trippier had a decent game apart from the penalty. Showed with a few crosses why we should consider him over Walker. Thought Wimmer played pretty well as well. Glad to see him get a game finally as well. Good cover for Verts, I reckon. Hopefully he'll get a chance in the PL soon too.

Quarabag was definitely not a bad side. Such a typical Spurs at home in the group stages of the EL though! We always seem to follow this recipe - go 0-1 down early on, get a goal back before half time, get a couple in the second half - win 3-1. It must be our, what, 78th 3-1 home win in the UEFA/Euro league in the last 20 years? Haha.

Interesting reading the reports on here and now we seemed on the tele, just got back from the gsme. Fun. I like seeing us play our backups and kids, though it wasn't always pretty.

Townsend was just so bad, that was the only real negative, an awful gsme even by his terrible standards. Lamela started really bad too, but felt he grew into the game, and even when he's bad, you can see he has quality, foot work ethic, creative, just doesn't work, but got better and better.

It's so difficult to really judge them though, even rose looked pretty bad (I wonder what kind of roasting walker would've got if he did what rose did this game...), but trippier and carroll looked average, Wilmer looked strong, njie was exciting but "that pass back"! Obviously the real stars were son and Alli. Both incredibly exciting to see, and hopefully both starting on Sunday.

Imagine Dier, Alli. Then Chadli eriksen and son behind Kane. That's pretty exciting!

I've fallen in front of a bus on the high road before. Wheel missed me by inches + everyone on the bus laughed.

My uncle Paddy, bless him, used to stay with my uncle Seán up in Enfield, and when he'd leave us or my nan, he'd go and get the 231 or the 217 from outside the Spurs pub. Sometimes, I daresay, he'd delay himself and drop in for one for the road. One night, the bus caught him at the stop and dragged him along underneath it. My suspicion is the driver wasn't going to stop and Paddy stepped in front. His coat and trousers were shredded, and he just got up and got on the bus, paid and sat down.

Bit of a disjointed performance there, to say the least, three goals notwithstanding. Most of the first half, we looked like a random group of 11 fellers who didn't know each other that they'd just herded in off the street and given a ball to.

Alli was good again; Lamela was awful again; the rest looked ... meh, okayish.

Above par: Alli, Son
Well below par: Rose (defensively), Lamela and Townsend

Overall, work in progress but some encouraging signs. Still too laboured and slow in midfield. Need to sharpen up considerably against Palace. 6/10.

Wonder who we will have left to play CM if Dier, Dembele, Bentaleb, Mason are all out.
Carroll, Winks, Alli? Maybe Vertonghen if he really wants to continue with a DM with Wimmer coming in at CB

Can Winks be more of the ball winner we need if Dier gets injured? Perhaps he is why we didn't go strongly for another back up / were happy to let Stambouli go?
