Eric Dier

There was nothing wrong with that tackle at all and its something our CM has lacked for far to long. He was my MOM yesterday and over the four Prem games he has been our most consistent player ( imo). It looks like we have found a answer to our biggest problem from last season because if he can play that well after 4 games he should go on and get even better with more experience.

I am certain we are trying to get a DM in and again Poch is showing how much he trusts him to fill in for us there.

Last year he made mistakes (I would argue no where near as many as fazio) but for a 20 year old centre half he was hugely impressive. He kept Fazio out he team for large parts of te season and during most of our most important games. We signed toby, who at 10m is a no brainer and dier is a perfect 3rd choice.

We are actively trying to get rid of FAZIO and from there dier will hopefully be a lynchpin of our squad and pushing for a place in either position.

The Englishman’s signing from Sporting has to surely rank as one of the steals of the season at £4m: even as Spurs have struggled at times his pacey, attacking play from full-back (and even central defence) has been a handy advantage.
 
I really really rate Dier and did as soon as i saw him away at west ham. However even im surprised how well he has done at DM.
The one thing it means is that we can now wait for the right player, rather than have to get somebody in.

He also does offer that option of dropping into CB when the CB's are covering wide, which is why i think poch likes him in the position
 
its worked very well so far, he's more of a Carrick than a Parker in that role but I think thats a good thing
 
I really think he will be perfect for the job, imo he has probably been our best player so far this season and with more games should get even better. He could turn out to be the one to fix our weakest position last season.
