ITK Thread

Yes, have to say, Ghostofarmo very rarely posts anything. That's a good sign in terms of his credentials of actually being ITK, as he doesn't pretend to constantly know all the ins and outs of our transfer activity, he just posts stuff when he does actually know something about it.

He claims to be a junior agent working under Rob Segal IIRC

It's the likes of Jasper and JJetset that give constant updates, almost as if they're Levy's PA. In context, I work on files at work, I might send them off for some expert opinion or to an investigator to do some enquiries. At that point, i don't know what's going on with them for a period unless I ask. So it's likely that Poch doesn't even know 100% where we're at with targets at any one point, so how can these guys give us a constant running commentary.

IIRC, Ghostofarmo used to be Scout. All his info came from agents (he was related to one?) and was usually wrong.

jasper: Pritch 'should' be back by next week training, though he is on a personal training programme already. Should know end of week. Mason caution but same, will know more and hope it is not a recurrence. If so a little while but cannot be clear yet but highly doubtful as they are being very careful with him. Expected to be in contention next week is the aim and why they are being very careful.

Lamela is going nowhere from what I heard.

Anyone believe WBA tweet (according to SSN) that no bid has come in for SD? Maybe written but louds of verbal bids. Who are they kidding? SB's agents and friends telling everybody who will listen bids have gone in whichever way that has been done, and player does not want to be held to ransom (allegedly).

Ali Z: We did not bid £10m , Levy is tight but not stupid.

Trix: Just popped in to say Villa expect Ade to be completed today/tomorrow(on loan). Again though, it is Ade and no matter how good the info is I won't believe it till I see him in the shirt(too many false dawns).

So the players playing that will suprise us are the likes of Onomah and Winks, players who have been training with Poch and know the game plan?

Here's Ade at the Villa training centre

Opening day of the new season. Old Trafford. Talk about getting thrown into the deep end!

If Pochettino thinks they have the ability to handle it, then that's good enough for me. He sees them train every day and knows their skill levels much better than me. But I'm a little worried about their ability to handle the pressure of the occasion. I can't think of a more intimidating fixture to properly kick off your Premier League career. I'd prefer to see them get a home debut. A mauling at Old Trafford could put a serious dent in their confidence right at the start of the season.

But you can't have everything. And the flipside is also true - if they put in a good performance at Old Trafford they'll feel like they can handle anything at all.

I can't see Poch throwing in too many kids for the Utd match. Too much too soon for those kids I'd say. He will likely go with the attacking trio from last year, Chadli/Eriksen/Lamela or maybe Dembele as the 10 and Eriksen wide.

Bentaleb's partner is the one not nailed down I would think. Depending on preseason and/or new signings we could see a surprise starter there.

Hopefully the German expedition can bare fruit .. Personally think McCarthy berahino and a winger will come in , maybe the young German striker as well . Will be shocked if any more

I will be shocked if we buy more than two players, but I would indeed be happy if we did. Berahino and a CM, and I think we are done.

Yeah given a choice, I'd prefer 2 very good players, rather than 4 OK players, quality over quantity and all that, we already tried 'quantity' and they didn't cut the mustard but cost a LOT of wages.

Who do you think he might be watching?.... and who do you HOPE he is watching?!?
I think it might be Robert Beric. He is a Slovenian striker playing for Rapid and scores and scores and scores. I would suggest he's possibly in the Harry Kane mould, but a bit less mobile and more direct. Definitely a striker and not a wide forward. It would make sense based on our outgoings aat the moment and I'm pretty sure he would have no qualms about being a squad player.

Would he be good enough? Very difficult to judge. He's certainly head and shoulders above Nikica Jelavic when he moved to Rangers. I think there is a chance he'd come good and fill the sub striker role proficiently.

The other possibility is Philipp Schobesberger. Wide forward pace to burn with skill, amazing close control and an eye for goal. I think he is going to be a star. Still just a kid and looks better (imo) than Mane did playing for Salzburg. Would be cheap, no risk and I honestly think he would do the business. However, we certainly won't be the only ones aware of his progress.

Of course, we could just as easily be looking at Ajax players. I'm going to be at the return leg in Amsterdam in a press capacity, so I'll see if anything was mentioned to any of my collegues and what the rumours are.

The man to replace Lennon/Townsend. More goals, more tricks, can actually pass to a team mate. Comfortable wide or right side of the 3 behind CF.
