It's probably just as much to do with what we want to do with these players for next season. Dembele is quite sellable within the PL without playing him any more. He'll only aggravate his hip or something.

I'm sure I've posted similar last season.. Or was it the one before? To be honest I've forgotten how long Townsend has been getting picked.
 
Saudi Sportswashing Machine playing 4-3-3. Always worry when I see that. We struggle with the 3 man midfield teams. Let us hope today is different.

Also the work rate of Lamela will help
 
I'm starting to question Poch now. I'm sorry but Paulinho cannot be selected above Mason or Dembele. Also, it will be interesting to see if the wide men can perform to the level of Lennon lately.

I try to give Poch the benefit of the doubt .. but picking Paulinho is beyond my understanding ..

Why the fuch did Poch play that waste of space again. The guy plays like a coward and was rightly subbed on 60 mins. We looked far better when Mason\Dembele came on as usual. The Brazilian lampard my arse.
 
Don't really mind the team he's picked. Townsend and Lamela have both been utterly useless, Townsend has scored more so he's slightly less useless, but Lamela deserves a go I guess.

Glad Chiriches isn't playing.

Mason also hasn't impressed me so not bothered that Paulinho is playing.

I would :) (though realize I'm in the minority)

Reason being: nothing to play for at the moment and worth a few games to see if he's capable of *anything* (in case we keep him - who knows he must have some talent somewhere) and/or add a few appearances which might help push up his value (if we sell him).

Pretty sure we've been doing a similar thing with Townsend and he'll be gone in the summer.

Just IMO.
 
I'd have played [insert name of any other fit and available Spurs player here] instead of Paulinho.

Honestly let's consider the alternative options in central midfield:

Dembele - the only time that he warrants being chosen is against the top 4 contenders who can out pass us in midfield because he is the best at keeping possession. Play him in this sort of game and all he does is slow the team, dribble himself endlessly into blind corners and abort fast counter attacks
Mason - we all agreed he needs out at the moment
Strambouli - don't even go there.
