OMT: Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland AFC

We've had our shirts pulled several times but continued playing; do we have to throw ourselves on the floor to get them booked?

Great question. Plus Capoue sportingly stopping in that 50/50 when we had high possession. We are nothing if not a decent bunch of chaps.

This match shows what I've been saying for a long time and what people seem to be blind to, bentaleb isn't anywhere near ready for our first 11 and dembele offers so so so much more

How does it show Bentalebs not ready then?

Poch has been in Dembele's ear. Releasing the ball early and taking a few shots. Glad to see it.

Lamela is having a poor one.

Lamela can really struggle at times with wayward passing, he was the same last season also when he played.

I'd counter that if bentaleb was playing we'd have another passer on the pitch. We would be able to properly break them down and not have to try long range shots.

Indeed, I agree… But credit to Dembele, he's doing well today.

I also think if we get Lennon on second-half in the 70th or so, and if Eriksen can find him quickly, we'll be in. This game has Azza written all over it for me.

Frustrating thing for me is that as well as we have played we're not ahead like we deserve to be.

Well, we've generally dominated but suffered due to a defensive lapse. Sounds familiar. Although given the way we're playing, overall I'm quite pleased. Keep it up, is all I can ask for. :)

So much better than Sunderland

Just need that final touch

Eriksen and Dembele great 1st half, Lamela and especially Ade invisible

Think Kane will get on 15-20 mins into the 2nd half

Chadli's been very good, also liking Adebayor's movement up front. Lamela needs to play the left channel more in the second half.

They sat back after ten minutes and realised they cant contend with us. Think we need to let them have some of the ball and risk it with winning the ball in midfield and countering them. Dont think we have the guile just yet to be able to break through an eight/nine man defence

Played well thus far though

For those of you watching on even worse streams than me...

One-way traffic for most of the half which makes it incredibly frustrating that scores are level. When will we learn our lesson when it comes to conceding straight after scoring ourselves. We start the game brilliantly, get out deserved reward, and then we switch off and invite them back into the game. Still unlucky not to be ahead, but the second will be more difficult, I reckon. I can't imagine Sunderland being equally poor in the second half.

Dembele, Chadli and Eriksen playing well.

Pfft, young ref on the pitch letting a lot of things go and letting play flow. We are happy to do so but Larsson and a few others making a point to draw his attention to every little foul, trying to slow play down.

I don't think we are getting enough bodies in the box at times.
Defence looks prone to too many mistakes.
Lamela on the left now as opposed to the centre has meant he is less effective. Then again Eriksen has looked very good.
