Not really transfer rumours, but anyway ...

[Update 38] BEN on Pochettino's schedule

Who: BEN
Where: SO
When: 2nd June

BEN said:
Poch starts work End June/Start July
was with somone close to him last night he needed a break after long season he will watch games from argentina.
Poch coming back to London end June

probably means he needs a break before the long-er season ahead with europe and more players to deals with.

All managers take June as annual leave. With the season finishing mid-May and pre-season starting at the beginning of July, it's the only time they can.

It's one of the reasons why DoFs are so useful, so the coach can properly recharge their batteries over the summer.

[Di Marzio] Roma continues to look for ways to add depth since they will be back in the Champions League next season. Their new target for the midfield is Tottenham’s Dembele’, the giallorossi’s sporting director Sabatini really likes the Belgian midfielder, in the past he was seen as an alternative to Pjanic. While Roma has yet to make a concrete offer they are very interested in Dembele’.

I'd bite their hand off for anything close to what we paid for him. Especially with Banega being available cheaply as an upgrade.

going to Sunderland

Grey Fox

"The meeting" did take place yesterday and apparently was a good one that has prioritised positions and list of players and the good news that LB and CB are two that are top of the list. Told that agreement on a balanced squad is needed and we may see more outs than ins. Not rocket science, but none expected in before WC finished as most teams have placed an agent ban on their camps.

Poch to have a couple of weeks away, not a month and will probably attend a few games at the WC, Broomfield and Baldini definitely there at some point.

going to Sunderland

We are both as strongly linked:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...erland-tottenham-tussle-over-transfer-3638202

He's far far too good a player to go to Sunderland. If he goes there, he'll end up moving to a top 4 club next summer for £25-30m.

Poch desperately wanted him for Southampton last summer, but they couldn't afford him. I really hope he's pushing for signing him again now that his contract has run down and he's available.

I can't believe this kid is even pretending to have a hotline to a 1:1 meeting between Baldini and Poch yesterday. Most reports suggest neither are even in the country at the moment. It's half-term, isn't it?

Also, most of the players we've been linked to so far aren't even going to the WC - Lovren (Croatia not qualified), Kono (Ukraine not qualified), Schneiderlin (not in France or England squads), Banega (not in Argentina squad), Davies (Wales not qualified) etc.

All mostly good points, but do you know who are playing each other in the first world cup game?;)

Not Spurs, but interesting nonetheless:

Hernandez won't agree to Southampton.. If they are after United players in exchange that deal will drag out all summer not done in the next few days!

He should. About the best he can do without ending up on the bench.

Hernandez is the type Poch might like......a striker that works his nuts off

Twitter also saying Rodriguez and Clyne deals looks close with ourselves. Can't see it. I do think Clyne is better than Walker though, Rodriguez is injured though.

Would seem very odd. A RB when our current one was player of the year last year (yet we have no LB). And someone pretty identical to our record £30m signing.

Are they any good? would they be first team players?

I like Walker.

I can see the merit of bringing in a new RB if there happens to be a very good one available on the cheap. But otherwise there are surely greater priorities.

I don't think Clyne would be. Just an expensive marginal upgrade on Naughton. Remember we only released him from the academy a few years ago.

If Rodriguez recovers from his ACL, he's probably at a better place than Lamela at the moment. But Lamela has a much higher ceiling.

Clyne > Walker

Rodriguez would be perfect from the left, like he plays for Southampton, finally moving him central like Sturridge.

Did we actually have Clyne on our books a few years back? Thought he was brought up in Crystal P? Rodriguez is a big gamble with that injury. Some come back good, other dont get back to their level at all. And he will not come cheap if Soton is to sell a number of other players. My vote goes to.... Lamela :)

Clyne was never ever on our books, don't know where GB got that from...
