Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

but that isn't contradictory in the slightest?

i think it is, he has already made his mind up on a number of players, already told Levy which players he wants rid of, so why even mention giving everyone a second chance. He really is starting to talk baloney

He couldn't get rid of Dawson because the player rejected the move? didn't we agree a deal with QPR?

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

But even if the cull is the right thing to do in the summer , right now, we still have so much to play for to be coming out with all this.

I just don't recall Wenger saying similar, after slipping seven points behind us last season in the chase for top four or did I miss that ?

There's managers in the bottom eight - ten, looking over their shoulders at the relegation trap-door and they're not coming out with all this stuff.

What other manager or chairman, comes out with this type of nonsense, Cardiff maybe ?

To compare our crop of misfits and ego's who blatantly have one foot out of the club already is futile. Wenger oversaw every single transfer in a club he's been building for over 15 years. They we're all pulling in the same direction and none were making noises about leaving if the club doesn't get CL. In fact, I think they were all coming out saying we can do it, we WILL do it.

I'm sick of this egg shells kid gloves crap with the players. Its mind boggling. They get paid millions to play football and can't even be bothered to put in 100% and keep their mouths shut for the fans, and employers who pay their wages. Fuuck em all.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

It might also mean we're binning Baldini after a disastrous first season? if that's the case then thank ****.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

If we get tonked tomorrow and/or Sunday (when I say tonked, i mean losing by at least 3 goals) at least we'll have the comfort of knowing that TS has ordered a clear-out in the summer.

That will certainly make me feel better

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Sherwoods either cracking under the strain or giving the squad the kick in the balls it needs.

everyone will percieve it differently.

I wonder if we could get people to give 5-10 players they want to ship out? we will all come out with different names.for the players to come in.....thats a hard one but if we could all in for one player I would probably say Loic Remy - could get us goals and we could afford him.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

how many clubs sign 7 players in one transfer window, 7 players all of different nationality too??? imagine the upheaval that causes in a squad. Firstly, the players themselves have to individually get use to PL football and a change in culture, and the players already at the club have to get used to the influx of new personalities. Plus Spurs lost one of the best players in the world in the summer. Selling Bale must have been a hammer blow to the aspirations of the players. They want CL football, they want to win trophies, and yet the team lost an amazing talent that would have helped them achieve that. I really think that this group simply needs time to get to know each other, a full season, a full pre season, no more major changes in personnel, just one or two top additions. Sherwood should shut up and just get on with preparing the team. This is his first job in management, he is damn fcuking lucky to be given this chance, so cut out the media barking and put a team together to beat Benfica!!!!!!

I'm not talking specifically about our signings being the problem. I dont want a load of major changes to our first 11-16 but what I do want is people who don't take their career or the club seriously out of the door. That includes players who feel they are too good for this club or we aren't going in the right direction.......well step up and make it go in the right direction. Vertonghen would be a classic example, instead of musings via the media that you might have to leave to realise your ambitions, stop playing like your ****ed off and don't pass a ball blindly back to no one when you f*****d up in the first place. That way we might manage to stay in touch with the top 4 for you to realise your ambitions.

The manager being lucky to be there has nothing to do with my argument. Fact is, 2 different managers now have had similar capitulations so I would suggest questions need to be asked of the squad more than the manager at this point.

not really. I was one of the few who said at the beginning lets get behind TS after Levy was left with nowhere else to turn once he sacked AVB and had no decent replacement lined up to take over immediately. I backed TS and his boldness to go with a more attacking line up with Ade and Soldado up front, i for long have advocated two up top and any formation you like behind them. However time has gone one and its got to a stage now where im baffled as to what is happening with the team, the selections, the public rants. Id simply prefer no headline grabbing articles about mass changes, second chances, gutless players, dna of this and that. Id rather the focus be on the games we have left in the season and for the coaching team to really get it right on the training pitch and send out teams that are compact, organised, and attack with attractive football that entertains the fans.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I really wish the guy would just stop giving all these quotes to SkySports et al; it's like Harry all over again

Dear Tim,

We have two BIG BIG games in the next 4 games, could you just concentrate on coaching the team and preparing the squad and just STFU.

Ta

He's required by UEFA and the Premier League to give pre and post match interviews and press conferences. That is where these quotes come from.

No it wont dont be silly!

Tim is echoing what a lot of us have said for ages. In terms of Tim he is very raw and has a long way to go. Look the players have been protected all season after city & pool...why not try this new tact...as the other way seems to have had no effect?

Daniel Levy warns Tottenham coaching staff he is planning summer clearout, & urges them to play "for their references".

He could get Freund to do them if he's not able to control himself. AVB use to let Freund do cup matches for his development

id say the Liverpool result were the worst weve had this season.....the City ones were bad, but then again this City team put 4 past Utd at home, 6 past Arsanal, when they thrashed us at home even Pellegrini said that was the best they have played all season where absolutely everything clicked for them. The Chelsea defeat began with Verts freakish mistake, a pen that never was and going down to 10 men, plus then Dawson went off and we were woefully short at the back. After that we let in 2 more goals, so what. Weve gone to the Bridge before and had 4 put past us without any bad luck. We have a terrific away record this season, you dont get that with a load of gutless players who go missing when things go pear shaped.

fair point, but what of the hammerings...if its not gutless its a weak mentality.

For years we have an inferiority complex about beating the bigger sides...unwanted records vs Man utd & Arsenal have been broken...but now we seem to be slipping back to our old ways when we have made so much progress over the last few years to try and change that.

Ok we have no divine right to win the league....or beat teams who pay higher wages than we do....but what we cant accept is the madness we have seen this season vs the cream of the league...We are not even competing due to players coasting or being weak mentally.

imo we were going well vs Chelsea and I agree with your unlucky assesment...doesnt excuse some of the players behaviours....people across the country are telling their youth teams NOT to defend like Tottenham Hotspur....Defeat I can take, utter humiliation is alot harder.... The players need to get it!

Are you still wanting us to lose games or are you under the realisation now that this is the week of all weeks that we need to stick together & hope for the best???

not that we can do much ourselves other than channel positive energy to the coach/players Uri Gellar style.
