Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Re: Northumberland Development Project

I think its time the trust starts to play hard ball. Release a statement wanting to know what is going on or if they refuse.. tell Enic to sell to someone that won't hold the club back and pay what its gotta pay to get it moving.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

Does anyone know how much we've already spent on this and whether it means the project has to go ahead eventually?

Re: Northumberland Development Project

rumours that our current debt is all to do with the stadium. But I think its more likely half the current debt spent because we had debt prior to the initial announcement in 2008. Only the board would know the truth.

you may want Enic out if they don't get the stadium rolling asap but i don't think that's a widely held opinion atm

A few more years of near failures and constant stadium delays and I'd agree with you, but right now, I still think they're good owners of the club, all things considered.

If this project is still floundering come 2017, then by all means burn Levy effigies outside the gates. Hell, I might even pop over to join you. But right now, give them a little more patience.

You are correct with that full statement.

Signing Berbatov will fill me with more disbelief and anger towards the custodians of our great club.I just do not trust them, and certainly do not trust they will get the stadium underway. Infact would not surprise me all the land that has been bought is turned into flats with levy saying the new stadium is not viable after waiting 5 years since initial movement was made, or for me waiting since 2001 when Levy joined the club when the issue was clear as night and day that the stadium needed improving to an increased capacity. I don't write to change people's minds towards Enic though, I write to vent my frustrations on this matter.

I like doers not those that want everyone to do things for them. as they say Dare is to do!

Re: Northumberland Development Project

I think ENIC are good owners but for a good few years now it's been pretty obvious they're just trying to make us a more marketable product for them to eventually sell for a great wad of cash, which doesn't matter much to us as we still benefit from becoming a club able to generate it's own profit.

But if the stadium doesn't start moving soon I don't see what more they can offer us, and more importantly what we can offer them.

Do ENIC really want to invest more and more years into us when they've done 13 already? That's about a 6th of a life time.

I agree with Craig. In two years we will be further behind the teams that are qualifying regularly in the CL and even if building starts I assume cash flow will create a problem with investing in the team along with losing our prize assets it would appear impossible for our current owners to compete.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

i don't think it can be underplayed just how important the stadium build/design is - i thinka less interested owner would probably have started work on the stadium by now, but it would be a 'rush job' - sacrificing certain aspects just to save a bit of money/time - we're possibly gonna be in this stadium for next century and i want it to be the best it possibly can be - I don't want us to rush it through in a vain attempt at some immediate success or worry about losing touch with the others, 20/30/40 years down the line 5 years longer outside of competing in the mid 2010's won't really be playing on my mind as it would be sitting in a stadium that's not what it should have been

Re: Northumberland Development Project

This was posted on SC last night.

a bit from edmonton tonight:
Sorry not more to report.
CPO on archway not yet granted. No stadium without the cpo
Daniel saying publicly and privately that work will start this year.
My view for what it's worth is that is optimistic.
The redesign of the stadium is better than I expected. Will be much better than the emirates for the features fans appreciate.

Over the past ten years or so, I think we've spent in the region of £70m on property acquisition around the current stadium and a fair bit more on architects and planning fees.

We must also have spent, at a guess, £20 million + on the Sainsbury's and technical college building.

So maybe £100 million in total thus far?

The project has to go ahead eventually - not because of the money we've already spent on it but simply because we desperately need the new stadium.

In a list highlighting their recent activities, legal firm Asserson says:

"We have advised the London Borough of Haringey on a Compulsory Purchase Order to facilitate the regeneration of North Tottenham which will involve the construction of a new football stadium for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and much needed housing. The CPO Inquiry was held in April 2013 and the Secretary of State’s decision is anticipated in early 2014."

Photocopier

Been known for a while that Real Madrid would choose that design, does look good though I think capacity will be 90,000+

Will miss the current one though :(

Absolutely stunning, really envy those who have been.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

i was under the impression that they would just be building the outer shell and making minimal alterations to the current interior?
