January transfer window wishlist

Cole, Baines, Shaw, Rose, Gibbs.....England pretty well stocked at left back
 
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has had rave scouting reviews about young Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans, writes Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People.

The 16-year-old, who has already played for the Belgium Under-21s, has been watched in action for the first team and reserves.

Tielemans added to his growing reputation with a goal against Eupen in a 7-0 Belgian Cup win in midweek, and is valued at £1.1million by Anderlecht.

There is a growing number of Belgians at White Hart Lane, with Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Nacer Chadli all having joined the club in recent times.

Villas-Boas hopes that Tielemans could become the next to join that group in January.

My prediction would be for 1 or 2 lower profile Baldini-inspired signings a la Capoue or Chiriches (ie people of relatively low profile).

Preference would be for a LB and understudy for Lloris. Think signing forwards can wait til the summer and the CL place is sewn up
 
I don't feel like we really need anyone. I still wish we had a "passer" in midfield but obviously AVB has gone in a different direction.
 
We need a left back. Vertonghen makes a good left back but given our lack of depth in the centre, with only Dawson and Chiriches reliable at the moment, we need Vertonghen in the centre.

Rose is decent but if we can get better then we should. If not, then we at least need a good back up.

Otherwise, we have a good squad so no, we don't 'need' anyone. But Xhaka has so much ability and potential that I'd like to see him join.

Agreed re: left back don't know who this granit guy is was thinking more of the glamour signing of Coentrao not sure if that would even be possible.

Where do you see him getting regular games for us? Who would he replace in the starting 11?

Not much point in signing fairly expensive players that age for their potential if they can't get on the pitch regularly to keep developing. I like Xhaka too, but if we sign him I think we would have to sell at least one player and make sure he got plenty of playing time.
