*** OMT SPURS vs ANZHI ***

very good 3 points. probably the hardest fixture of our group away in Russia.. 6 points from possible 6.

another cleansheet.

This match showed exactly why Defoe shouldn't be anywhere near our first 11. Yes he scores against weak opposition but his linkup play is so bad it's unreal. Soldado is twice the player Defoe is. He's a great impact sub and to play against weaker teams, but he's simply not good enough.

is he really though? evidence so far suggests otherwise

in terms of movement, link up play Soldado IS twice the player.
in terms of playing against lower opposition and scoring goals, Defoe has shown he is better. (mainly because Soldado isnt playing yet has 2 in 1 when he has)

Best thing about today? The result. Nothing else. Overall, a tepid performance. Maybe the pitch can be blamed but in the second half we didn't create a single chance while Lloris had to pull off a few decent saves.

Really? I thought Traore looked very average, a bit 'working man's Kenwyne' who didn't actually trouble our (largely) second-string...

I ve seen him play and he has shown huge potential. His transfer fee was 15m and has scored against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a 1-1 draw for CFR Cluj.
