***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich

We are NEVER going to start Eriksen in that game, Lamela on the other hand will start. If Gylfi will not be injured in those two crucial games that Iceland will play then he will mos def start. If not him then Holtby.

There's zero chance Sigurdsson starts, unless three of four others get injured between now and then.

I wouldn't be surprised if AVB played three holding mids.

Sure, if you use a definition for "holding midfielder" that encompasses the roles both Dembele and Paulinho have played for us so far this season. But that wouldn't be a very useful definition imo.

I thought we wanted to score goals, not hit the crossbar/lose the ball/speculatively shoot? Sigurdsson has been woeful for us.

This is a fixture we have not won since 1995. When I first started watching football in the late 80s we always beat Norwich, usually fairly comfortable. I recall us winning 4-0 in 1990 with Lineker scoring a hat trick; and then we stuffed them 5-1 on Easter Friday in 1993.

However, we could only draw 0-0 with them in the one season back in the PL in 2004 - it was one of Santini's few games; I wasn't at this one but I remember Bentley playing and being booed on every touch as he was on loan from Arsenal and he hit the bar with a long range shot and also Ledley made an incredible recovery challenge.

In recent years they severely scuppered our chances of qualifying for the CL in April 2012 by beating us 2-1; that, like Fulham last season, was the difference between CL and EL. Last season they played well and deservedly drew 1-1 with a late equaliser.

The one thing that has most annoyed me about Norwich visiting us is that they change their kit for no apparent reason - one of my big pet hates in football! We always wear white at their place so no reason why they cant wear traditional yellow at the Lane!

This is our only Sat 3pm home fixture this side of Christmas btw.

if you look at starting 11 for the last 10 home games then I would put my money on Gylfi to start. Eriksen will be eased into the team.

He's certainly doing his chances no harm with turning out for the U21's performing well, scoring and then starring in the Europa league game.
Agreed hopefully gets his chance.
I also agree with the post above Siggy just has not done it for us with Eriksen and Holtby looking good his game time will disappear I believe.

Holtby should be Infront of Siggy

I agree

I like Yiddo's team above. I know it wasn't against top class opposition but Holtby has played well in the advanced central position in the last Europa game and those last two u21 games and seems to be finding some form. His link up play and energy puts him above Siggy at the minute. He might go ahead and have a stinker but he at least deserves a start in a big game and both him and Eriksen (once settled in) will be ahead of Siggy for the cental role now in my opinion.

Only way Siggy gets a long term role in the best 11 is if he can take the opportunities he gets out on the left when he gets rotated with Chadli.

i'd like to see soldado-chadli-paulinho-eriksen-lamela to start and for us to score goals from open play.
the rest can just focus on defending.

This match has 1-1 written all over it. Norwich will be impossible to break down but we'll eventually get through after 65-70 minutes. We'll then sit back and they will score a s****py equaliser from a set piece in the 80th minute. After that, despite spending the remainder of their game camped in their half we will fail to convert the one decent chance we create.

Is this last years OMT?

When was the last time we had an "Easy Win"? Aston Villa away last season comes to mind.
