What went wrong?

yeah lucky, you know when you get something that you don't deserve through good fortune ;)

To be fair, at 2-0 up, I thought we'd cruise it. I didnt feel like we didnt deserve to be winning. Not sure why you did. We took our foot off the gas AFTER that

Once again the over paid tossers played like a beaten team with so much to play for. Even when they equalised we all knew we would lose.

Why the fudge doesn't Harry tell Bale to stick to the position which has turned him into a fudging world star and not on the fudging right where fudging Lennon should've been?[/QUOTE]

1000% this!

Don't know if it's a case of Redknapp trying to be too clever or Bale thinking he's much better than he actually is. He's not Ronaldo.

The two goals themselves were lucky, but we deserved to be winning in the first 30 minutes.

i don't think so, we deserved to go one up but after that Arsenal were creating the better chances and could have equalized several times before we got the pen

But we scored, and looked like scoring. Im not blaming 451, but to stick this on the fact we started with 442 is massively clutching at straws

Sorry but was your response to me genuine?

It's clutching at straws to blame the formation? you must have missed the 1st half where we were absolutley dire (you can cling on to the fact that we scored 2 all you want). It was men against boys the 1st half. They dictated play, created chances, literally stopped us from playing.

When you play your rivals away from home and your rivals are 10 POINTS BELOW YOU IN THE LEAGUE, you don't decide to show people how brave you are and play 4-4-2 with Niko Kranjcar as the right midfielder thats supposed to track back and help out a young attacking full back. That's why you rarely see Wenger, Ferguson, Mourinho over the years try and play 4-4-2 away from home when playing their rivals. You simply don't do that.

We weren't dire for the entire first half, we looked the better team for the first 30 minutes and took a deserved lead, although the finishes may have been a little fortunate.

The players are far more to blame for this then the formation is, if it worked for the first thirty minutes why other then the players would it have stopped working?

how did we look the better side ? arsenal dominated possession and created more/better chances in that opening 30 minutes

Poor set up from the start, no width, not our style at all

Krancjar, totally off the pace, liability for what its worth.

Easily our worst performance of the season and we saved if for the Temple of Doom of all places. I'm not counting the City homre game as at least there were some mitigating circumstances around that. Too many players had an off day. We had no real possesssion and allowed Arsenal to dictate the game. Thye wanted it more and played like they had a point to prove. If Lennon was fit I fail to understand why he was not playing as he has been so integral to our performances this season.

Dominated possession? they were passing it off the side of the pitch and we were intercepting their passes in their own third... What game were you watching?

Arsenal created one chance in that opening half hour, van persie in the area with the ball and he put it wide.

Was not dire the entire 1st half.

Thank you.

I love how a bad result changes facts. Who, at 2-0 up was going nuts over how poor we were?

Come on, hands up ](*,)

I think someone hinted at it earlier in the thread. Scum are known to find it hard to score against deep defences.

So after 0-2 we dropped deep. Too deep imo and crucially without having a solid midfield in front of the back 4. And it cost us the game. Bale and Kranjcar shoudl have tucked in and Modric and Parker held a line across the middle.

Easy in hindsight now its all done and dusted.
