Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

I think I get how this sports journalism thing works now...

A quote in a magazine saying "The Champions League is a great competition", becomes 'Bales misses Champions League', which becomes 'Bale hints at Spurs exit', becomes 'United on alert as Bale tells Spurs he wants out', becomes 'Bale could refuse to play to force through dream move to United', becomes 'Imminent signing Bale key to Moyes title plans'.

Re: Gareth Bale

It is ridiculous, so a Bale interview for Esquire magazine in which he says he loves playing in the CL and likes little stuff like the music becomes that article. Jesus, what happened to doing some proper research and getting the handle on the real deals going on - do some journalists have any pride in their professional any more?

Re: Gareth Bale

Sensationalist Bale stories sell papers and get people to visit newspaper websites. So journalists write and newspapers publish sensationalist Bale stories. The best thing to do is ignore them and never click on that oh so tempting link.

But if you have: Please copy the headline instead of making others click on it. :~

The more ridiculous the story, the less deserving it it of clicks.

Re: Gareth Bale

More to the point, the interview would've been done BEFORE the season ended. I'm guessing in April.

Re: Gareth Bale

Marca TV stirring brick again.

@gstobart: Barnett: "He was at Malaga airport today, he's been in marbella on holiday. He comes back to Tottenham for pre-season training next week. He hasn’t said no and he hasn’t said yes, there’s been no offer. You have to ask Tottenham, then Real Madrid - not me."

They also had a taxi driver on the show claiming he drove Bale somewhere and he told him he wants to play for Real Madrid :ross:

Re: Gareth Bale

jesus. it just won't end will it.. it's going to go on like this until we sell, whether it's this window, january or next summer.

Re: Gareth Bale

all the news coming out now is that Madrid have given up the chase for this summer

Re: Gareth Bale

ahh bless tham, didnt get their own way for once, bullying and tapping up didnt work..

bunch of ****s

I do want to believe that Levy will hold firm on this... and mostly I do believe that... but I won't feel 100% confident that Bale is staying until I see he's still here on September 2nd. It's one of the great clichés, but it's true... every player has his price. There is an amount of money (or money plus player deal) that would make the offer difficult to refuse. Personally I feel the amount Levy has in mind is a fair bit more than Madrid will be willing to offer; but I have this horrible image of Monaco sorting out their tax issues and Ronaldo tinkling off to them for a hundred and twenty million "in a deal that makes him the richest sportsman in the world". At that point, Madrid will hail Bale as the new Messiah and offer enough to force Levy's hand... they might even tempt Bale into forcing the issue if they promise him "main man" status at Madrid now that Ronaldo is gone.

Yeah, I know it's far fetched, but stranger things have happened in football. If Ronaldo remains a Real Madrid player though, I can't see Bale leaving this summer.

It was set before this all started. Bale does want to play for Madrid, and I have no doubt he will go there at some point in the future, but that future is not this season or "possibly" even next season.

LEGEND

Re: Gareth Bale

Surprised?

I said on May 20th that Bale was going nowhere this season! Believe in DL!

you are consistently positive (not meaning that in a bad way)

As the other poster said we will all breath easy come September.....Greenday wake me up when septemeber ends....begins lol

Yes lets hope Madrid keep the noise down and go for other targets......if we do only have bale for another season then I hope we can make it count....I suppose the only worry is if Man United are serious and Bale wants to go their....but now saf has left im not so worried.........Moyes is gonna be hard pressed to make players sign for him due to his successful reputation or lack of depending on how you view him.... A bit more quality around the Balester.........big seasons from siggy holtby........

you never know we may just have a decent season and if we can sign Brazilian box2box bloke and Spanish lethal scorer geezer then we may all be feeling very positive very soon.

Suck on our collective Chaddy's Marca, Perez, Zidane.....did you expect us to bend over and take it up the tailpipe and let you have our star man??????? JOG ON fudge YEAH!!!!
