Confederations Cup 2013

Funny re: Paulinho...I'm delighted he's had a quiet game, and seeing him score the (potential) winner here actually makes me a bit nervous. Keep his price/options down from the 'flash pan' mob...

I agree, might've been good for us had brazil lost, possibly meaning he could've made a decision before the final on sunday.
Bernard has impressed in the short time he's been on, Cavani has been a beast, all over the place.

Frankly IF they had to move the tournament (they won't) there are only two places which could take it at this short notice. Germany and Britain.

I am sure I remember hearing an interview about a year ago where someone from the FA(?) said that we were actually on some kind of list as an emergency host for footballing tournaments should it ever be needed, due to our already excellent footballing set up and infrastructure/quality and quantity of stadia etc.

Yeah, I remember quite a bit of rumour before the last World Cup that FIFA had a plan to shift it here if SA couldn't get the stadia ready

I still think there is goals in this. Italy looking to play on the counter at times, a Spain goal will open this up

Well-balanced first half that could have gone either way.

I don't see how it has been well-balanced. Italy have been by far the better team, creating four or five good chances. Spain only had the one from Torres. I haven't seen Spain struggle this much in many years.
I still think Spain will win though. Italy will rue their missed chances in that first half.

Interesting. Italy have taken off a centre half (playing 3 at the back) and brought on a midfielder.

however this ends there is gonna be some worried Brazilians between now and the final

(those that are thinking about football that is)
