Bombs go off at Boston Marathon Finish Line. . .

touching story and a hero no doubt. The picture is horrifying and really puts a perspective on the whole incident, shocking stuff to witness I would imagine so to be as proactive as this guy when the bricks just hit the fan is something I'm not so sure I could do myself... Brave? Stupid? Bit of both but he's saved a life.

Has anyone seen the picture doing the rounds on Facebook of the guy with the black satchel?

I did a Google image search to find pictures of that guy in the wheelchair with his legs blown off (as it reminded me vividly of when I had my legs snapped in half)

The image I clicked on took me to a thread of people saying how it was all staged, the blood was fake, they were all actors, the guy clearly wasn't hurt and was just sitting there, all these flimflam conspiracy theories about the government hiring actors to pretend to be hurt and spraying the floor red etc. It was amazing. They were saying that the guy in the wheelchair was a war veteran who had already lost his legs, and not the person named. That is why people get annoyed when AuroRaman et al talk about conspiracies - the majority of them are utter twaddle and outright offensive to most sane thinking people.

There's saying there could be other motives and then there's that. Think you picked out the most ridiculous one you could! Not all of them are like that.

Anyone who thinks the explosion or results from it was staged are clearly idiots. If the government did have something to do with it I honestly think they'd rather just go ahead and actually do it rather than go through the hassle of spraying a load of paint and getting people to fall over in the space of less than a second.

Easy. At no point as far as I can remember did I mention that this horrific event was staged or a mass conspiracy.

Whilst I agree with you that most theories tend to be just that, theories and as you say, twaddle, there HAS been proven cases of false flag scenarios globally. As I've said before, I ask questions of certain events. Because sometimes things just don't add up as they are portrayed by our governments an mainstream media.

The man in the cowboy hat in this photo's name is Carlos Arredondo. Carlos was at the Boston Marathon with his wife handing out American flags to runners. He lost a son to a sniper bullet in Iraq in 2004 and a second son to suicide a few years later - a depression triggered by the death of his brother. Carlos now spends a significant amount of his time on peace activism and working with vets coming home from war and was at the Marathon to hand out flags and inspire people.

Carlos does not having any medical training but when the blast went off, he ran towards the danger, jumped two fences and found the now-famous man in the wheelchair on the ground, both his legs blown off, and suffering from severe shock and critical wounds. He got him into a wheelchair and pinched the man's artery closed with two of his fingers (you can see him doing so in the photo). Because of Carlos, this man is alive today, having had surgery earlier today to remove both of his legs.

This man is a hero and deserves to have his name shouted from the rooftops. This man who lost so much still threw himself into the frenzy of panic and saved another guy's life. He might as well be Captain America as far as I'm concerned.

Interview here after the event. He's so clearly in shock himself. An absolute hero in my book.

From the pictures I've seen, they have Iranian features but could be Middle-Eastern region generically or even Mediterranean.

Who knows, they could be straight up American. I'm sure they want to catch the remaining suspect alive if possible. fudging hell, man.

They have areas cordoned off in Cambridge in a neighborhood I used to live near. Sounds like chaos there as residents in the Boston area have been told to stay home. The suspects shot an MIT officer dead in his squad car, so that's 4 these monsters have killed.
Is the police scanner live or is it recorded and played back?

Can someone recap (I haven't been able to follow too much as I've been busy at work)... So they shot a police officer at MIT, then hijacked a car (driver was released unharmed), then there was a car chase followed by a shootout where 1 of them was shot/arrested/injured/died in hospital? How did the other one get away?

I believe the other suspect got back into the SUV and drove through the police blockade. They allegedly had another pressure-cooker device that they tried to use in the stand-off with police, but I think it was with little effect.

Was there really live police radio? If so is this normal?...never realised any old person could listen in!

Blimey!!

Back in my youth, when you could only pick up mid-week match commentary on your little old transistor radio, if you moved the dial right down the end of the scale, you could hear live police broadcasts then.

Ha! Who needs the tinternet?
