**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Saying he is unfit and the reason he missed it is because his positioning was poor because he is too unfit to get around the pitch.

Yeah well Poll would know about being unfit. He used to sweat like a pig within 5 minutes of stepping onto the field.

The guy clearly loves himself too.

I think the guy who once gave a player three yellow cards in a game should shut the fudge up.

Btw, I think it was a disgraceful tackle and he deserved a 5 or even an 8 match ban.

Just tuned in to watch the England U21s on ESPN, Zaha was fouled and all I heard was Romanian fans chanting the N word at him. Absolute joke

Everyone talks about the three yellow cards. It was in the 2008 World Cup Australia v Croatia. In the same match he also blew for full time just as John Aloisi was through on goal and about to score. At the end the goal wouldn't have made a difference except I'm sure Aloisi wouldn't have minded an extra WC goal added to his name.

Forgot about the U21s, hope Rose is playing well(he usually does for England). Hope to see Tom Carroll come on in the second half. Any idea why Townsend isn't in the squad?

Italian Soccer Star Antonio Cassano Names Newborn Son ‘Lionel’ After ‘Greatest Player of All Time’

Antonio Cassano doesn’t do anything by the book — on the soccer field or off it.

The Inter Milan and Italy star took his trademark maverick behavior to a new level by persuading his wife Carolina to name their newborn son “Lionel” — in honor of the Argentine supertar Lionel Messi, according to World Soccer.

“This is the second biggest joy in my life after the birth of my first son,” World Soccer reports Cassano told the television show Undici. “I named him Lionel because I’m a massive fan of the best player in history. My wife wasn’t keen, but I then convinced her

“In my opinion Messi is the most important player in history. I’m in love with him on a footballing level.

” Lionel Cassano only came into the world on Monday, but he already has a lot to live up to. His father has played for four of the world’s biggest clubs (Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and AS Roma) as well as Italy’s national team. His namesake is, well, arguably the greatest soccer player of all time.

Young Lionel won’t worry about matching his dad’s feats anytime soon. His first order of business will be getting the better of older brother Christopher Cassano, 2, on the field in the backyard and at the kids’ table in the Cassano house.
