Mate hes built like a brick brick house. Hes quite well built for a small fella. I dont think he's lightweight at all and he looks like he could be a bit larey actually.

Lightweight !!!! DId you not see him interviewed with Bale, he makes Bale look like a weakling...

Was excited when we signed this guy. He's really hit the ground running. I love his energy and enthusiasm, he came over to us at the end of the game and you could really tell how much the win fired him up. I think he will be a top signing for us. Remains to be seen whether he can fill VDV's shoes in terms of goals, but he's definitely got a lot of things in his locker.

I am absolutely loving this guy, his quick passing is excellent, throws himself about, presses from the front, and then to top it all off, he was probably the most passionate of our players.
Really pumped up in his celebration of the Bales goal, geeing up the fans, and along with Ekotto (who climbed into the crowd and giave his shirt away) were the first to come over to the fans at the final whsitle.

Watched on TV. But when they celebrated Bales brilliant goal, he was banging his chest screaming come on come on! And when Clattenburg blew he was first to the supporsers shouting and celebrating. I think i've got a mancrush on him already :)

I know he's only had two sub cameos, but he looks to have settled so quickly. Look at clint and Gylfi's first games and compare to Holtbys. Long may it continue!

That was right in front of us, I loved his passion. Great to see from someone who still hasnt played 90minutes in total for us, as of yet.
He is certainly doing the right things to make himself a hero amongst the fans

Holtby shows great work rate in closing down the ball - which VdV also had, albeit in bursts.

I can see that Jack tossshere being a total bellend in the NLD (as well as influetial for them football-wise); Hope Lewis gives him a real tough challenge near the beginning of the match to say Wilkommen!

noticed he was very communicative on the pitch, clapping encouragement and giving "low-fives" as he passed players.
i love his cushioned first touch lay off - surprised even our own players at times. and seems to have a good sense of adventure plus a good drive on him.
so happy we got him and in Jan too, feels like a needed shot in the arm as we head towards closing off the season.

Didn't anyone else see the diagonal run he made just before the goal? As soon as Walker (?) got the ball, Holtby pegged it into the box and to the right, dragging a defender with him. He pretty much stopped and watched as Bale got the ball and struck it through the exact space that the defender had been occupying!

VERY intelligent run -- he knew exactly what he was doing.

Yes, it was a very intelligent run and crucial for the goal.

I watched Holtby's celebration after Bale's goal again on Match of the Day and Holtby was saying to the crowd (about Bale) "He's the fcuking man.... He's the fcuking man!!" Really made me laugh.

What a neat and tidy footballer he is though. Nice touch, good vision and seems to offer constant movement. I know that AVB's first choce for this role was Joao Moutinho but I think Holtby will be just as good a player in this role (if not even better) was about £20 million cheaper in terms of tranfer fee, probably on lower wages than Moutinho would've commanded and is 5 or 6 years younger.

seems like a passionate kid, and reminds of VDV from this point of view. Some of VDV's celebrations and his interactions with the fans were legendary.

Most players need one touch to control and then another to pass. I've noticed he is 1st time flicks and passes most of the time. Going to be a star I reckon.
