*** Tottenham Hotspur Vs Liverpool OMT ***

Get behind the manager please; we can clearly see our tactics worked in the first half, however the second half the players took their collective foot off the gas despite neither us nor liverpool changing tactically.

If it happens continuously though who is to blame? The players or the gaffer?

Meanwhile Man U have been making very very hard work of their match against the spammers...apparently next to no chances in the second-half...they'll walk away with the 3 points and look forwards though.

They've got the mentality to win every week, season in season out whilst being brick.

I'd definitely rather Naughton at LB then the Gallas we always see from 82 minutes onwards, targeted everytime as it's blindingly obvious he can barely walk. fudged an offside trap right up, he can calm people down and make them focus but also makes everyone brick themselves once his legs go for the night.

Can we also keep in mind we were missing Kaboul, Caulker, Assou-Ekotto, Parker, Adebayor. With that lot back, home games will be a very different prospect. Redknapp was very lucky that he had barely any injuries last year (and he had Modric on top of all that).

We can be 4th on Saturday! And no goal conceded in the last 10 minutes.

Lol. Our defence is shocking. Actually we did well today. Dealt really well from their 50 corners. But too many individual mistakes in this team.

As great as Defoe was against the hammers he was shocking today

that was nervy, but well done lads!

one thing... two throw in in the 92nd and 93rd minute and we go long, giving the ball away... just go short, backward or square but keep the f-ing ball!

great result thought, get in, and well done AVB!

We always do that , whatever the minute. Needs to be worked on in the training ground, come short for the throw-in!

At the end of the day, performances don't win you games and get you fourth or higher, results do.

and us, Tottenham Hotspur, got a mighty fine result today at home to Liverpool who were on a very impressive unbeaten run. Fulham away next, which is always tough, and end up getting a point or even better a win but get outplayed, I don't mind, as long as we pick up those all important 3 points.

Well said.

Came on here to celebrate a win, instead I'm hearing that we were lucky because 3 out of our back four are 'brick'.....

Steff I remember that game

I also remember that we were actually pretty brick in that period we had only just started to come out of our slumber (two points eight games). Liverscum were also a better side.

Today they looked like Barca with their passing and we looked like... well... spurs

They are lacking a striker and maybe a class defender (Id argue that Reina's done too)...their system is spot-on. Allen drops in, picks up, feeds. In the first-half we pressed and pressed that 'out' and wouldn't allow them time, thus we got the ball and kept possession high up the pitch. It's hard to play like that for 90 minutes. With a Luka on the pitch you can afford to sit a little more in the second-half because you have someone who controls the ball and holds it, the problem we have right now is not having a player like that to allow us to slow the game down and take the sting out of without being battered. But with Dembele only just coming back from injury, with Gallas gritting out another 95 mins on hollow legs, and with the high-tempo first half we put in, after 3 games in 7 days, a second-half like that was sadly on the cards.

I will say that for all the stick Dempsey gets, he is a presence who fights and works; we need Sig to show so much more if he's going to even be a good tactical sub...

Umm, and Vdv and King.

Steff, we need to be better than this. Bloody long high balls to short arses up front. Did not keep possession for more than 5 passes 2nd half. Daws back to hoofing it forward to no-one.

Mate,

At the risk of repetition, please see a reply I just gave to DH...it will at least give you my perspective on that second-half...in short, when you play the uptempo pressing game we did for the 3rd game in 7 days, you need a Modric (or Allen!!!!) to be able to hold the ball and settle things down/pass short and well...we also need players like Sig to show up.
