*** OMT -- TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs ARSENAL -- OMT ***

the problem is defoe.

we've forgotten the berbs+keane years.

so starved of goals that we celebrate at the scraps thrown to us.

I think our biggest problem this season has been converting the chances we've created into goals.

Spurs have had 140 goalscoring opportunities so far this season, but we've only managed to score from less than 13% of them...

...Manchester United have had 6 fewer chances than us but have scored 11 more goals.

Not Spurs related but did someone on TV say Everton have come from behind in 6 straight games now?

iirc, we went two nil up against them playing with Ade and Saha up front in the first half. It was only when we got pegged back to 2-2 did Harry bring off Saha.

By trying to shore it up in the midfield, we handed them the game and lost the second half 0-3 playing with five across the middle. Exactly how was that any better?

We were getting dominated before we went 2-0 up.

In fact we were extremely fortunate to. They were cutting us apart at the back.

True - but the fact is we went two nil up. If we had contiued to go for it, could the result have been worse?

Yes. Yes it could have been.

It was the correct move to make at the time. It was even the move everyone in the match day thread was wanting. However the momentum had already been handed to Arsenal.

If memory serves me correctly we could have gone 3-0 up, but bale decided to go for a spectacular effort rather then a simple enough pass.

IMO, if BAE is fit, he plays, and Verts plays CB at the cost of Gallas.

Until BAE is fit, Verts will continue at LB, unfortunately.

Any chance we can get Derren Brown to come in at HT and make them all believe they are about to start the first half again

Soo.. fitness?

We lose our shape?

We play more aggressively? (score more in the second half as well)

Be interesting to see how this is remedied.

I could have sworn Redknapp was blamed for this once upon a time? something about the conditioning of our players being poor?

The only time we have been considered an exceptionally fit team ''on here at least'' was during the infamous ''Ketchup Ban'' days.
Would be interesting to know if there were long term stats on PL fitness.

I think this analysis is much more interesting, as it divides the chances into shots and clear cut chances: http://www.eplindex.com/20985/bad-scoring-goals-liverpool-fc-stats-analysis.html

This analysis shows that out of the top 7 teams, we've created the fewest clear cut chances. This goes in line with my own observation, that creativity is desperately needed especially in the final third. We create a lot of half chances and long shots but fail to create the clear cut chances.
