***Tottenham Hotspur v Norwich City OMT***

As usual, League Cup will be our best chance to win a trophy this season. So, we shouldn't waste this chance without giving our best. Ideally, it is better for us if we can rest a few players for this match. But don't think we can afford to rest too many players as we lack quality in our squad. I think our team will be badly unbalanced if we play too many youngsters. Anyway, we are more than capable of beating Norwich. Just hope we don't get complacent and will turn up with the right mentality.

Norwich seems to have a good record at home this season. They must be in high confidence after beating Arsenal last week. So, we cannot underestimate them. As Reading showed against Arsenal yesterday, small teams can beat big teams in Cup matches, almost anyway. So, we should treat Norwich carefully especially with the the Chris Hutton connection. After the way we struggled against them in the league, we better take them seriously this time.

In Cup matches, only the results that counts. So, really don't care who we play or how we perform as long as we win. Just hope we can beat them in normal time as we have a shyte record in penalties.

GHod knows what team avb will put out, but we are hardly brimming with options at the moment.

I would play the following and this is on the basis hopefully the ridiculous ade situation is sorted

Lloris

Smith Dawson Caulker Naughton

Sigg hudd livermore townsend

Dempsey
ade

Ade hasn't traveled.

I think AVB will start Cudicini in goal just like the previous round match against Carlisle. I think it makes sense as Friedel starts league matches while Lloris starts in EuropaLeague.

So, any official team news yet ?

Feel a bit nervous about this match. Just hope we don't get complacent and make use of the chances we get.

Guess I have to put up with livermore tonight again? I really want him to succeed but don't think he's good enough

I've been hoping top see this kid get a place on the bench with some easy minutes at the end of a game.

Does anyone know how he's been doing in the reserve/youth teams?

Watched him play against utd U21s and was outstanding, very creative and worked hard but something wasn't quite right and I can't put my finger on it

TEAM NEWS

Norwich manager Chris Hughton has said he will freshen up his side after naming an unchanged line-up for their last two matches.

Russell Martin looks set to miss out after being replaced at half-time against Villa with a back problem.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is also likely to ring the changes as this is his side's fourth game in 12 days.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Mousa Dembele remain injury doubts, but Hugo Lloris is expected to play in goal.

MATCH PREVIEW

The boos rang out on the final whistle at White Hart Lane as a late Norwich equaliser on 1 September meant Andre Villas-Boas' inauspicious start to life as Tottenham's boss continued.

Fast forward two months and the dissenting voices have been silenced with Spurs fourth in the table, and boasting a record of having only lost twice in 13 matches in all competitions.

On the other hand, Norwich and their new boss Chris Hughton have not had things their own way at all. But four points from their last two games, including a win over Arsenal, has given their season a much-needed fillip.

The Canaries, though, will be mindful of the chastening defeat they suffered the last time Tottenham came to Carrow Road when Gareth Bale inspired them to a one-sided victory last Christmas.

This match is a repeat of the 1973 League Cup final in which Ralph Coates scored the only goal as Spurs lifted the cup.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

They have met twice before in the League Cup. Tottenham won both matches - the 1973 final and a fifth-round victory in 1992.

Tottenham have not lost at Carrow Road since April 1991, a run of seven matches.

This is their 60th meeting in all competitions. Tottenham have won 26, Norwich 18 and there have been 15 draws.

Norwich City

Norwich have exited at the second-round stage in each of the last three seasons, and are making their first appearance in the fourth round in 17 years.

The Norfolk club were the second winners of the League Cup in 1962, and also lifted the trophy in 1985.

They last eliminated a top-flight club in December 1995, when they beat Bolton on penalties after a fourth-round replay.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have lost in the third round in each of the last two seasons, after qualifying for the last eight in each of the previous four campaigns.

The north London club are four-times winners (1971, 1973, 1999 and 2008 ) and runners-up on three occasions (1982, 2002 and 2009).

They are attempting to reach the quarter-finals for the 22nd time in League Cup history.

Overall we may have a positive record v the canaries, but not by much. I think we'll grab a win, just hope AVB doesn't hold on to a lead and be defensive again. Hate that, we aren't good at it.

I don't think that makes sense at all. We don't owe Cudicini anything and he has no future here.
LLoris need games, let him play, it's Premier League opposition

team tonight: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Caulker, Naughton, Livermore, Carroll, Falque, Sigurdsson, Bale and Dempsey

Nice to see Carroll again, will be interesting to see how he has progressed from last year.

Norwich XI v #Tottenham: Bunn; Whittaker, Turner, R Bennett, Tierney; Snodgrass, Howson (c), Surman, Butterfield, Fox, Morison.
