Match ratings Chelsea

His corners in the first half were awful! Two in a row hit the first man. He looks scared IMO. I don't put too much blame on Gallas, he's old, that's what happens. What's Walker's excuse?
Don't disagree with that. It's as though he's feeling out of his depth but he certainly he has the talent to succeed.

As for Walker, he had a great run of form for a couple of years on loan to Villa, QPR and then back with us but now it's as though winning Young Player of the Year has totally gone to his head. People are screaming today they never want to see him in a Spurs shirt again but that's ridiculous. he's proved that on song he can be great both defensively and supporting our attacks. Right now though he needs a decent spell in the stiffs to get his head and his game sorted.

This guy is a cabbage. People go on about him being an England international defender too, but so what? That says a lot more about how poor England's playing stocks are than it does about Walker's erm qualities.

Friedel - 5 = Couldn't do nothing with the goals.

Walker - 3 = His defending and decision making is that of a man with a very low IQ level.
Gallas - 5 = Could have done a few things better tbh. Scored a goal (handball btw) but defensively was shaky.
Caulker - 5 = Looked nervous and did the simple things wrong.
Vertonghen - 7 = Good performance but he what he did for chelski's second goal was indefensible. I took a 0.5 off his score for that alone.

Lennon- 7.5 = Player very well and took a sort of leadership role. Very happy with him.
Sandro - 6 = Not a great performance. Slightly better second half though but still not good.
Huddlestone - 6.5 = Played decent but sometimes takes forever to play a pass.
Sigurddson - 5 for his first half but 7.5 for his second half. Very hard to score him overall tbh but i'd say a 6.75 overall is fair.

Dempsey - 5 = Rather crap tbf. Did nothing at all.

Defoe - 7.5 = Scored a goal, worked hard, needs to pass rather than shoot sometimes but overall very good.

completely disagree. he was the only defender who had a stable game throughout

No way. He was nervous and kept making the wrong pass/decision. Watch the game again and pay attention to his movement and reading off the game...nearly always getting it wrong.

Friedel - 5.5 - Should have saved the first goal

Walker - 6 - Did okay, that shot near the end should have gone in. Glaring error at the last goal, but thought it was a foul.
Gallas - 3 - At fault for their first three goals, looked suspect throughout.
Caulker - 7 - Calm, assured, good distribution.
Vertonghen - 6 - Some good tackles, runs and crosses, but too many simple mistakes, should have tracked back at their second goal.

Sandro - 6.5 - Didn't dominate as much physically as I know he can, poor shooting.
Hudd - 7 - Good passing and set pieces.

Lennon - 7.5 - Very good defensively and offensively, but too inconsistent.
Gylfi - 7.5 - Unlucky not to get at least one goal.
Dempsey - 5 - Not good enough today. Shouldn't start for us in matches like this IMO.

Defoe - 7.5 - Thought he was very good today.

Livermore - 5.5 - Didn't get stuck in.
Ade - 6 - Didn't seem too happy, some good involvements, poor headers.

overall - 3 in the first half and 6 in the second.

Notable mentions for Lennon who was outstanding I thought - 8 (leader like in second half) and Defoe (especially in second too) - 7.5

Dempsey was horrible and Sig was brick (second half was much better but was ok) - Both played out of position? then AVB takes the blame.

Thats about it really.

and still talk so much rubbish?.......... ;)

I don't talk rubbish tbh. You might not agree with what i say but i genuinely try and be as fair as possible when analysing a team/player performance. I think there is 2 players in our clubs history that i could be accused of making irrational comments fairly.

tbf we all talk rubbish now and then and today was your turn, regarding caulker.

Friedel 5 - nothing much he could do with any of the goals, but equally never pulled out any wonder saves either

Walker 4 - generally a poor performance all round, Apart from one fantastic shot which rattled Cech, he didnt link well with Lennon (again). Seemed to lose his head with Mata when he slammed the ball against him. Was plainly at fault for the fourth goal, but in mitigation, he did try and keep the ball alive to give us a chance of an equalizer. It didnt work out and made him look a mug.

Gallas 4 - really poor defensive header straight back into the middle of the penalty area cost us the first goal. Seemed to redeem himself with the equalizer and his first goal for Spurs, but then looked completely at sea for the rest of the game. Was totally bemused by Chelsea's running off the ball

Caulker 6 - was up against a Torres who looks to be coming back to his best. Overall, coped pretty well but it was a difficult afternoon for him.

Verts 7 - LB is not his best position but he contributes largely both in defence and attack - made Gallas's goal and did a fantastic King-like challenge on Torres when he was about to pull the trigger.

Sandro 6 - ok defensively but some poor passing. Got caught in possession a couple of times and in my view was at fault for not tracking his man (Mata) for the critical third goal. Missed Dembele. His shooting was poor too.

Hudd 5 - no signature passes from Tom, didnt release Lennon like he used to. Often appeared slow and cumbersome. Freekick for the Gallas goal was well flighted. Tired on the hour mark but that is not surprising.

Lennon 7 - our liveliest player. Wasnt given the ball enough, particularly in the first half. Put in some good crosses in the second, although slightly fortunate with the assist for Defoe's goal as I thought he was shooting

Sig 6 - a curates egg. very poor in the first half - his shooting from a well positioned free kick(wafted over the bar) and crossing from corners was typical Spurs (couldnt beat the first man). He got into good positions, didnt bring his shooting boots. Improved much in the second half

Dempsey 4 - a very poor performance, slow, ponderous, caught in possession, gave the ball away cheaply, stalled some of our best potential attacking moves. I was surprised he wasnt subbed earlier. Cant seem to play with Sig and offers no balance in the absence of Bale

Defoe 7 - tried hard. Still not a lone front man imo - had options to bring others into the game but elected to shoot or dribble himself. Took his goal well. Looked better out left when Ade came on

Livermore 6 - didnt really do anything wrong

Ade 5 - didnt look up for it. His body language spoke volumes. Looked rusty and had poor touches. Could have been more alert when cech dropped the ball near him

AVB 4. Was unlucky with losing Dembele and Bale before the game and it was always going to be an uphill struggle. I dont think Dempsey and Sig give us enough balance and thought Dempsey should have been replaced by Ade much earlier. Defensive booboos cost us dearly today but we were well beaten by the better team on the day.

I dont know why he didnt start with Lloris and Ade. It meant we went into the game missing arguably 6 of our best first team - Lloris, BAE, Kaboul, Dembele, Bale, Ade. And probably our most important players at that. Hardly surpising we got beaten by a virtually full strength Champions of Europe team. They really do seem to have some sort of curse over us.

Dont be too upset guys - lets get some perspective. Onwards and Upwards. Three points against Southampton and all will be well.

Am i the only one who thought we played well lol, missed our 2 best players against the inform team in the premier league and gave them a damn good game. Nothing friedel could do on 1st goal just too quick, 2nd and 3rd maybe should have closed the angles down a bit more. Walker had a good game, looked knackered and obviously will be rated purely on the last minute. Dempsey and sig both tracked back well to support midfield. We had more shots i believe then them, 1st team to score against them in second half. The only one who wasnt their norm was prolly Gallas, but meh.

Friedel - 7 Didn't think he did much wrong. Think the deflection of Cahill's shot caught him out - but it was struck very hard. Still prefer to see Lloris though, if Lloris is the future.

Walker - 6 - Think his mistake might make him a better player. At least he won't try and keep it in play regardless next time (hopefully) because that was stupid.
Gallas - 5 - Gallas looks like he is struggling to keep up. When we have Caulker's pace, would rather have Dawson in if no other option.
Caulker - 7 - Very good for the most part.
Vertonghen - 6 -I think Verts is a midfielder in his own mind, and playing LB encourages him to get forward, but he doesn't always head back as quickly. But his touch, keeping ball etc are really good. I think he would be a great holding midfielder alongside Sandro.

Sandro - 6 - Sandro did the best he could against three of the best midfielders in the Premier.
Hudd - 7 - Was impressed with Hudd today. Got back to make some very imprtant tackles, and passes the ball forward early when its on.
Lennon - 7 -Pretty good against one of the best LB's in the Premier. Didn't get much help from Walker offensively.
Siggy- 6 - I don't think that I've seen Siggy really impose himself on a game yet. Doesn't retain possession well, and not sure about his shooting/composure in front of goal. Bit underwhelmed with Siggy so far.
Dempsey - 6 - Poor generally. Poor retention of the ball, hung onto the ball too long and then got tackled on a number of occasions, and looked out of sorts. Not helped by playing him wide left.

Defoe - 7 - Very well taken goal. But everytime he gets the ball, you know what he is going to do. As do the opposing defenders. Could have put Dempsey (?) in early on but didn't. He is not a lone striker -and no one is going to convince me otherwise.

Livermore - 5 - looked lost when he came on, and didn't track their midfield properly.
Ade - 6.5 - Looks tinkled off from not getting a game, but did enough to suggest he should get more playing time.

AVB 6 - still not convinced about AVB . He makes, what seem to me at least, some strange decisions. Playing Dempsey wide is not a great idea, for starters. And what about playing 4-4-2 at home, instead of approaching home games like the away side.

Nope. I thought we did very well in the absence of Bale and Dembele. We had them rocking in the early stages of the 2nd half. They are top of the league for a reason and were always going to have spells where they dominated. Only atrocious defending that cost us in the end.
