****OMT-Tottenham v QPR******

Much better in the 2nd half without being scintillating, but it wasn't hard as we were absolutely brick in the 1st half. Credit AVB for seeing the obvious and changing things at the break.

In the cold light of day those 3 points are crucial for a variety of reasons. The 1st half performance will be forgotten soon enough but for me the result more importantly gives AVB a little more latitude with the press and fans.

That was one of the worst spurs performances I've seen for a long while. Even the ones at the end of last season. QPR must feel absolutely mugged.

Glad we got 3 points but if that were a City or Utd we would have been torn to pieces.

Sandro is frustrating. So good...so brick. Always a bit too desperate for me, never seems fully in control of the ball. Yet has such ability at times. #perplexed

fudge me, are you in constant competition with Hully to be the most negative poster on these boards!?!?! How anyone can say Sandro is brick is beyond belief!!!

They did it to us last season at their place. They won 1-0 after we had dominated the game.

In conclusion:

Vertonghen is one OUTSTANDING player. Never seen someone so comfortable in 2 positions.

Gallas cant cut it anymore, he just cant. Which is okay, because:

Caulker is ready, our defence stabilised when he came on

wow, incredible to have won today. Doesnt matter how, but 3 points were important. Well done lads. Vertonghen was absolutely incredible. Lennon outstanding too.

Waiting for Bale to find some form. In and out today his touch towards the end was just poor, easily dispossessed and not strong on the ball.

Baffles me that some think Sig/Dembele/Dempsey would represent an improvement over VDV/Modric (and I say that as someone delighted with Dembele signing). Simply did not replace outgoings with enough quality and are trying a new approach which is going to take time. Just hope we speed it up a bit because we do not have the players to play a slow build-up game (especially as we have no real playmaker)

That was Levy's fudge up though wasnt it. AVB had apparently identified Moutinho early on and it fell though on deadline day.

Got I watched the game and just read the second half comments. The people who already have a AVB hate agenda are so fudging clear to spot with their comments it's quite sickening to read. Even Harry got brought up saying we would have never played that badly. Utterly ridiculous. We were awful in 2012 under Harry in the main.

Can people give AVB just a little fudging credit? He tried something out today, it didn't work, he changed it straight away (which Harry never used to do) and we looked much better in the second half and got the win. How many times under Harry did we struggle to beat teams like QPR and he NEVER CHANGED IT!?? I hate to compare but the AVB bashers do, just evening it out, trying to have some balanced thought which some posters fail to have.

Hopefully now AVB realises if Ekotto and Naughton are out then it has to be Verts and Caulker is more than good enough to fill in. Also, still don't think Defoe is perfect for this system, but without Ade there is only so much we can do.

Now I hope Ade is okay to play against Carlisle and we rest everyone and play our second string to give them game time, and these guys a rest. A lot of games coming up, we have to rotate.

Here's another one then! I thought he was crap in the first half, kept giving possession away, fouling and could not make a five yard pass. Better in the second half. But let me tell ya, this guy is not nearly as good as Parker.

'fudge me' as you say, you're a fudging dull fudger aint you!?!?! No surprise you have Grim in your name. Is it, up norf?

Sandro has bursts of amazing talent - mazy runs, sensational tackles - but then can't make 4 yard passes or turn with the ball. If he add more control to his game, he'd be a sensational player. I wasn't saying he's brick. But that he can be a world beater one moment, and rubish the next.

As for being negative, do you think we'd have won that game without the og?

But there is no balance at all in what you said as you've just criticized the manager whose team won the most points in the Prem from losing positions two seasons running (even though he wasn't in charge for 8 games of the 1st) for never changing it. It makes your point utterly absurd. There is no balance at all. Balance would be at least the changes had an effect and we won points from a losing position, the thing our previous manager did probably better than anyone else in the Prem during his reign. It would suggest AVB has Harry's gift for turning things round. Instead you insinuated Harry was bad at this.

How does that make me dull? Or was it just to have you really "clever" play on the word Grimsby?!

I do think we still would have won!

But that wasn't my point. My point was when we were playing badly, or a formation didn't work. Not us coming from a goal down. I guess it's all opinions, but I always thought Harry was perfect when we had a full squad; as that full squad and our football were usually good enough to win the match, even if we came from a goal down. But if we had players out injured, or we couldn't break a team down; he couldn't change it, or moved players out of position; I thought he was bad at this. But don't think I didn't like Harry, I did, and we were incredible under him. It's just this constant Harry eulogising, it's the past for a start, but also it's been incredibly rose tinted now and whatever AVB does he's brick compared. (I realise the harry haters have gone to the other extreme)

townsend has played a total of 1 minute in 2 games and should have had 2 assists but poor finishing from defoe
