Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

I can understand caution with Maddison & Kudus. But they could have been playing U21 games to get sharp. It’s the players not coming of serious injury I take issue with. Solanke & Udogie the main ones.
Despite the post I just wrote neither of these players have had any run of fitness for more than 2 years. I don't think we can really lay it at RDZ feet anymore than we could at Tudor or Frank's. Maybe Ange broke them or maybe they are just injury prone, I don't know.

Does anyone think that as a squad we still look unfit?? I'm not really buying that excuse. I didn't see an any lack of energy or effort today. I just saw chances not being taken and defensive lapses being exploited but I couldn't lay the blame at any sort of low fitness level. Yes some individuals might not be quite match fit, let's say Kudus or Maddison but that will be the same for every team with returning players. And to my eye I'm just not seeing a bunch of unfit players....🤔
I’m not sure
We don’t seem to last games
The manager is the one saying we’re unfit
Odd excuse if not true don’t you think?

I see a lack of “first team 11 players” on the pitch because they are being managed for minutes.

Tonali, Fernandes, Porro, Udogie, Solanke, Savio, VDV, all non “injured” players who are being wrapped in cotton wool.

I think we do. There has been a noticeable drop in intensity after 30 minutes in every game we have played Saudi Sportswashing Machine onwards.

So we appoint a manager who is known to take 10 games to get going, and you lot want him out after 5.
Is he known for that? Thay just sounds like a lazy view thats grown legs

And no one wants him out

At Brighton he had 2 points from his first 5 games and they had only scored 4 goals, 3 of which came in 1 game. So thata fairly similar to the position we are in now. He got 3 wins and 2 draws form the next 5 although it included 2 cup games against lower league opposition. Then it was the winter World Cup so a long break before playing again and after that the team took off.

At his last 3 non Prem clubs.

First 7 Games

Sassuolo - 2018
4W 2D 1L - 15 Goals

Shaktar Donetsk - 2021
5W 1D 1L - 25 Goals

Marseille - 2024
4W 1D 2L - 15 Goals

So only one club out of the 4. Marseille were second after 10, so its not his norm like being painted.

This made me laugh

Fair to say the level of the Prem is way higher.
But he also came in to the job without a pre season at Brighton.

I’m going to be crude, but when I look at this team, I feel like they have no balls.
They don't have a winning mentality—
except maybe for Bentancur and Marmoush, who actually puts in the running.

We didn't sign a guy like Palhinha for 35 million. He was top-notch defensively and contributed in attack with his goals. Same goes for Romero; he was a hothead, sure, but he was tenacious and scored quite a few goals.

Everyone called him a troublemaker, but seriously, when you see your teammates aren't giving it their all, you're bound to get tinkled off.

Look at the aerial duels and the rest—we don't win many of them.

Our players look like the ideal sons-in-law you'd want for your daughters.

We're too nice; I'll say it again, we need to be bastards. Mourinho, Conte, and Tudor understood that.

If only we’d given Mourinho and Conte a 400-million budget back then... Spurs would have reached for the stars.

Sassuolo - previous season 11th, RDZ 11th, 8th, 8th.

Shaktar Donetsk - previous season 2nd, RDZ 1st.

Brighton - previous season 9th, RDZ 6th, 11th.

Marseille - previous season 8th, RDZ 2nd.

Tottenham - previous seasons 17th...

I think Tonali has that about him though.

Just dipping in briefly to say fudge off De Zerbi. Never wanted him, great times when we stayed up, but ultimately nothing has changed. Our players still look like they have no desire. Most of our play is pointless passing and no movement.

We've wasted over 300 million on "Premier League proven" without improving the team. The culture of not achieving is strong within this club.

We've gotten rid of some very promising players that could have been given a chance to develop (we're not winning anything this season, we'll struggle to be top half) instead of wasting money of Tonali and Marmoush. (Thank you Lewis family, hope you're enjoying it).

We've hired a manager with no track record beyond making "under dogs" play decent football. De Zerbi's style doesn't work when the opposition won't give you spaces to attack.

Relegation and owners fudging off would have been better.

See you in a year or two.
