Messi played right wing most of his career.
Good for him, there are so many players who can do what Messi does I'm not surprised.

"Danso, van de Ven, Solanke, Jan Paul van Hecke, I thought today they were not ready yet to play without risk," Roberto responded. "Maybe some of them can play the next game, on Saturday against Chelsea. Maybe not in the beginning, maybe at the beginning (Andy) Robertson and Sandro Tonali. It is about managing the players, especially after the World Cup or after big injuries like Udogie or Solanke had. They suffered long injuries last season and after a long trip, after the jet lag, ahead the beginning of the season, I wouldn’t like to take any risks."Someone on line mentioned Solanke is injured again?

De Zerbi's update on absent players
Roberto De Zerbi provided an update on the group of players who missed our pre-season win over Sydney FC on Wednesday.www.tottenhamhotspur.com
Think he said as much. A few weeks ago.I think RDZ is thinking this trip is a bit of a burden. Surely managers would prefer their players playing at home, there is no better prep than in the same country you are going to be playing all of your football in next season.
The point is that often the left and the right winger in modern football are just attacking midfielders.
Under Poch who was playing RW and who was playing AM out of Dele & Eriksen in his 4231?

Yes that's right, even Son played a bit more narrow left under Poch.Eriksen was principally narrow right, with Alli ACM. But they switched about during games sometimes to mix things up.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens next year, excluding the Covid years it think this must be approaching 8-10 years of heading out to the Asia Pacific region, it’s obviously for commercial reasons but if the manager is not keen on it will the club listen.I think RDZ is thinking this trip is a bit of a burden. Tell that to Levy…With the world cup this summer we should have skipped the long haul preseason jaunt.
