I always try and work from home when it's on during the he day.... highlights are so unsatisfactory in cycling....which is weird as not much goes on most of the time....but each stage is a story...and it unfolds at varying cadences.
Plus I like technical chi chat, storytelling and just going off on random tangents...all in the background while I get on with other stuff.

Something akin to Test Match Special just with better scenery :)

Yeah, I always have it on during the day as I’m lucky enough to be off for a few weeks every summer. The ITV4 package was so good at building a narrative around the race though. I’m missing Gary Imlach, Matt Rendell, Daniel Friebe, Boulting and Millar, Peter Kennaugh, the theme tune… 😢

I’ll just have to get used to TNT. Their coverage does have the bonus of Orla Chennoui tbf.

It’s definitely not ITV4 but the TNT post-race stuff is decent. Pete Kennaugh not playing ball there though. 🤣

Yeah, there were definitely enough subplots to keep it interesting and, as always, the spectacle was incredible - that first stage up Alpe d’Huez…wow!

Normally the day after the Tour I feel a bit empty, and I’ve come to realise so much of that has been to do with the ITV4 coverage. TNT is okay; I like Adam Blythe on the bike, and Orla holds it all together well (even if she gets a bit overexcited at times) but it’s just not Gary, Ned, David, Daniel, Matt et al.

If TNT (or Channel 5) had any sense they’d hire the entire ITV4 crew

Anyhow, looking forward to seeing a couple of the early UK stages in person next year!
