Madueke, Gordon, Quansah, Lewis Skelly and Stones shouldn’t be near squad.

How Gibbs White hasn’t been called up is perfection. I’d have Gibbs White starting and Anderson. So that there’s a club link up with two players who are off the back of having an excellent season.

Awful squad if rumours are true. So many bang average players selected, particularly in defence. Maguire, Palmer, MGW and Bowen should all be going.

I guess he's decided on how he wants to play, with natural wide players rather than surplus #10s, and can't accommodate Bellingham, Rogers, Foden and Palmer. It opens him up to obvious criticism if England flop, but he'll get that anyway, so he might as well do it his way.

Burn and Henderson seem wasted selections. Would be better to gamble on players who can make something happen (e.g. Gibbs White).

I guess Burn is useful if you’re under pressure the last 10 mins and want someone good in the air.

No Wharton or MGW (but Henderson) is pretty crazy though. I understand some coaches want an experienced head, but taking it too far imo

We have few good passers in midfield, Wharton will be a miss (even if just to rotate others)

Dan Burn, Jordan Henderson, Noni Madueke, Ian Toney.

Instead of:

John Stones, Adam Wharton, Cole Palmer, MGW.

FMS.
Stones is in, but should he? Hardly played lately.
Tuchel must have been appointed by Ze Germans to feck it up 🤣🤣🤣
Very little creativity in that squad. Seems like they're going for grinding out 1-0s

I would have taken Stones, Guehi, Konsa, Colwill, Quansah. A good blend of different talents, youth and experience. It perhaps missing the impact in the opposition 18 yard box that a Burn or Maguire gives you though.

Most of us could look at that squad and think at least 5 players shouldn't be in it. It's the lack of eligible players in our game. Clubs spent years and money filling our teams with average overseas players.
Many of those players may have been better than the young players at clubs but they have stopped homegrown development. Every team have 5/6 overseas players sitting on their benches.
Just need to look at us, Wolves and West Ham, all down the bottom of table full of substandard overseas buys.
All our chickens have come home to roost.

Too true.

Perhaps one upside is that most of our players will be resting up. The ones that are going might not be on the pitch e.g. Sarr at AFCON.

We desperately need a full quota of fit, fresh players for the real start to RDZ's tenure next season.

That might just happen.
