*Official Match Thread* Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich

If only people (and especially our manager) could see what a fat waste he was beforehand. Harsh red maybe but how fudging slow is he? look at his reaction speed? i mean it's simple embarrasing. People were actually saying he should be starting as Luka's replacement :ross:

The whole things stinks really and if i'm being very honest i expected nothing less. Around 5 more games where AVB can implement his favoured system and if that still doesn't work i'm afraid he's getting Ramos'd.
think this post sums up the board at the moment tbh. People taking personal agendas against players and other posters and delighting when they see a chance to score points off them.

Anyone who slates Hudd for today needs their head testing i'm afraid.

Two of the players he bought were unavailable, one has only had one training session and the other isn't currently fit enough to play a whole match. What do you expect him to do?

Now... meaning from now on. He has had enough time at the club to decide who he wants to play, are you saying with the players he have we would always struggle against west brom and norwich ?

I understand you never liked Harry, but this is a separate issue... the replacement looks a brick choice.

I said Harry had to go because of the monumental collapse last season, and his flirting with England / the media (which were most definitely linked), but this fudging **** hasnt got a clue.

Did he not learn from the WBA game? Took off Defoe when 1-0 up, and brought on Jenas??

Absolute fudging disgrace.

Many wanted Harry to go, people got their wish and this is what happens. Why? Because people got above their station thinking that we have a divine right
to be top 4.

I never wanted AVB because Regardless of ability he was damaged goods in England. Levy must have fell for his enthusiasm and verbal assault of technical jargon on his ears. We should have got Moyes but he couldn't take us to the next level, yeah right lol

Totally agree, AVB wouldnt of been my choice, he had to get off to a good start or the press would be on his back.

I'm not having ago at AVB given time things might start clicking, I remember reading when he took over at Porto they had a poor start to the season and the fans were on his back.

Was never a red and Huddlestone is a very good player, granted he is slow but, he's not as slow as your making out.

I guess we have to wait and see with AVB

No he's not a good player. In fact he's the most overrated spurs player in GG history (posters continuously go back to the 09/10 season when talking about him. He's slow beyond belief and i'm tinkled off i still see him playing for us.

AVB is bottoling it big time with his ridiculous team selection and substitutions. So this is the tactical genius that we were going to get excited about? the guy so far simply goes 4-4-2 when things are not going well (the exact same thing our previous manager was ridiculued for). He has no alternative plan (so far) he just panics and goes 4-4-2.

The replacement's team showed a better performance against Norwich than 'Arry's did. I'll wait until we see his team playing his football before I judge.

AVB over A`rry all the time, so i am happy. This will be good over time. My worry is that the players aint smart enough to play this way.

I can honestly say that looking at the starting 11 in both matches (Baggies & Today) that im not sure we had the personnel available to win both. I genuinely mean that. The team is in MASSIVE regression. We are no where near as good as last season. Its fudging obvious.

If people are debating some of AVB's choices well get used to it. Have people simply forgot what he was like at Chelsea? Defoe was dross, again, he persisted with him again. But really this was timid, and souless. Pretty much how Chelsea performed under him for the latter part of his reign. Sure we have players to come in but no 'system' is going to make up for obvious failings. Worrying thing is AVB has had time with the starting 11 today but they flunked. They were rubbish.

the legendary golfball pops his head up and spouts the usual agressive nonsense.

Yeah, hes had loads of opportunity to shape the squad since.... yesterday. Your such a taco mate honestly. Id love to tee you up with a nine iron.

Aggressive ? you cant even spell the word you thick chav. Its far from "agressive", its just what should be the logical opinion at the moment. Read your only reply for aggressive.

You aren't even able to grasp the "now he needs..." is future tense so doesnt include today. He has been shocking so far, he will be sacked soon if he keeps it up. Whats the problem ?

The red card utterly infuriates me. Why on earth that was given, I don't know. We concede again from a knockdown, from a pinging ball in the box. Sigh. Deja-vu.

We've had a brick window, yet our Modric replacement scored, our replacement goalkeeper didn't play, our new forward didn't play.....how odd.

-------------Lloris------------

Walker---Kaboul----Vertonghen---BAE

----------Parker----Dembele--------

Dempsey-----Sigurdsson-------Bale

--------------Ade----------------

that is effectively our full strength side. Not the one out there today.

Ah, well. On to the next game. I must say, though, this 'test of faith' I mentioned, the need for AVB to be given time....not many on here seem to be passing it at the moment. :)

Chill, fellas, chill.

He's still at Porto. Dembele and Modric are very different players . He would never have scored that goal for a start.
I'd have Dempsey ahead of Sigurdsson at the moment in that position.

Like your positivity Scara and I agree it is too early to judge, but I am getting worried by some obviously stupid decisions in the last two games which has cost us dearly.

I didnt see the game today, but it sounded like Ade, Bale and Lennon didnt really perform like they can, Is Ade really "hungry for goals" and have we improved our dead ball delivery? Liverpool scored both goals against City from dead balls - Suarez direct from a free kick and Skertl from a corner. It really seems the same old, same old at the moment.

In case you hadn't noticed, playing football against a side intent on not playing isn't easy - even Barca find it difficult.

That performance was better than against Norwich last season in AVB's 3rd game and much of his team unavailable.

I thought Norwich, given their staff deficiencies, played rather well and had a couple of great chances to win it at the end. They took it right up to us. Having said that, I'm sure they would not have posed to many problems for Barca, even playing as they did.
:ross:

Dembele scored a great goal. But nothing like Modric who would have set tone for our ball retention (which was so bad today one wonders what the deal is with AVB's much mooted ball skills training).

Can't really include Ade in that.

he played well, looked to try and make things happen.

The only positive i can see from this game is that AVB will finally see how much of a fudging liability Livermore is.

I can't believe how angry i am, Jake Livermore is a fudging disgrace, what on earth was going through his head?!

Come off it. Thats debatable anyway, ive never enjoyed a football game less than today. But anyway, the difference is Harry had loads of good games behind him for us to know that was not the norm.
