*Official Match Thread* Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich

Why ? 3 performances that deserve slating.

AVB has spent enough money and shaped the squad his way, now he needs to start delivering. He has been shocking so far and its only heading to a November sacking unless he sorts it out.

the legendary golfball pops his head up and spouts the usual agressive nonsense.

Yeah, hes had loads of opportunity to shape the squad since.... yesterday. Your such a taco mate honestly. Id love to tee you up with a nine iron.

The red card utterly infuriates me. Why on earth that was given, I don't know. We concede again from a knockdown, from a pinging ball in the box. Sigh. Deja-vu.

We've had a brick window, yet our Modric replacement scored, our replacement goalkeeper didn't play, our new forward didn't play.....how odd.

-------------Lloris------------

Walker---Kaboul----Vertonghen---BAE

----------Parker----Dembele--------

Dempsey-----Sigurdsson-------Bale

--------------Ade----------------

that is effectively our full strength side. Not the one out there today.

Ah, well. On to the next game. I must say, though, this 'test of faith' I mentioned, the need for AVB to be given time....not many on here seem to be passing it at the moment. :)

Chill, fellas, chill.
Is it our first choice side? AVB clearly doesnt agree. He is intent on playing Defoe and Livermore despite superior alternatives sitting on the bench. I feel gutted.

Just a clarification, AVB has actually spent in the negative. Hardly like he's gone on a huge splurge.

I cannot see us geting anywhere near the better sides playing that ponderous tempo. Getting beaten is bad enough, but getting beaten and playing crap ffotball is even worse. I will however concede that we were marginally better in the second half.

Anyone who can say a single positive thing about AVB is living in cloud cuckoo land. We are brick, rubbish, clueless, spineless, rudderless and inept. It all stems from the manager. Shocking mistakes from AVB today. When you know something isnt going to work out you just "know". He will be sacked within 10 games, I can guarantee it, so we may as well do it sooner rather then later. West Brom and Norwich are poor - a better team will tear us to shreds.

If only people (and especially our manager) could see what a fat waste he was beforehand. Harsh red maybe but how fudging slow is he? look at his reaction speed? i mean it's simple embarrasing. People were actually saying he should be starting as Luka's replacement :ross:

The whole things stinks really and if i'm being very honest i expected nothing less. Around 5 more games where AVB can implement his favoured system and if that still doesn't work i'm afraid he's getting Ramos'd.
Was never a red and Huddlestone is a very good player, granted he is slow but, he's not as slow as your making out.

I guess we have to wait and see with AVB

Spare a thought for Levy, who cannot be blameless in this. We should have done our business earlier. Dembele had a clause which could have been used at the start of the window. The Verts deal dragged on for weeks. The Ade deal again was a no brainer but he had to miss pre season. But maybe we saved a few quid on the transfer fees somewhere. Its quite probable that in a few months the team will gel properly and results will pick up but the damage to our chances of top 4 will be done.

A howler by Halsey, but a poor performance overall. Friedel MOTM for me. Don't know why Sandro went out, Livermore was terrible today.
Only two points behind last years schedule, and still a long way to go. Stay positive, I think AVB needs to unleash his plans in full before slating him.

At least Levy will give AVB time. Levy can't be too bothered considering he didn't replace our most important player. I'm not sure what he will be thinking now?

Dembele is no modders replacement, no one is - he's a vdv replacement. Huddle was really really unlucky, it was a 50-50 ball, not even two footed.

Our defense is out of sorts, Daws needs to be in instead of Verts IMO. I feel for Verts, I think he can build a good pairing with Daws, maybe with Kaboom too.

he was very slow today, but that fits in with the 'loan him out to get fit' earlier in the season.

We need Parker back, Sandro seems out of sorts and Livermore isn't good enough as a starter for the level we all feel we should be at.

There's a lad playing for Hamburg that would be perfect for us, got a fit wife as well. Cheeky bid in the next window?

Yes. Because in negotiations there is only 1 person deciding the fee's.

Bad Levy, why did you not just give into what everyone else wanted when they wanted it.

In case you hadn't noticed, playing football against a side intent on not playing isn't easy - even Barca find it difficult.

That performance was better than against Norwich last season in AVB's 3rd game and much of his team unavailable.

Yep. Losing King, Modric and Rafa whilst replacing them with (today) a very, very dodgy looking Vertonghen and Dembele is adequate?

The team is weaker. Look at the starting line up. Do you think that looks a quality side on paper?
