Interim Manager Discussion

Would you have these as interim manager to finish the season?

  • John Heitinga

  • Current Coach (Lewis, Cochrane, Burnett, Carr)

  • Ryan Mason

  • Jurgen Klinsmann

  • Chris Hughton

  • Brendan Rodgers

  • Edin Trzic

  • Gareth Southgate

  • Former Manager Hoddle/Jol/Redknapp/Sherwood

  • Stick with Frank no matter what

Cheaper than relegation.
He’s not coming, he just wouldn’t do that just before the World Cup unless he is hounded out.

Don’t hang your hat on it. And I may add, his system seems to take some time to implement, time that we don’t have. Laugh all you want but give the job to Fat Sam or Harry …. Would be sweet to send the hammers down with either at the helm until the end of the season.

I would agree. For the record i dont want Poch back but I think its nailed on for the summer after the World Cup.

Id have Harry, no problem.

Source?

If true and he's willing to come, this will be a test of how much we've changed how we operate.
I always felt Poch put a lot of store in acting with integrity. I can’t see him backing out of his obligations to the US team - although if there’s a release clause, I guess it’s been contemplated that he might leave for the right offer.
Not sure where I sit with the whole Poch thing. I’d love him to come back - but only if I know it will be successful. That’s the conundrum.

To be fair he insisted on staying with Southampton till the end of the season, rather than coming when we sacked AVB

We need someone who the players respect and will run through walls for and can get us playing on the front foot without going too far and leaving us defensively exposed, and can implement it in 10 days.

Shouldn’t be that hard to find 🤷🏻‍♂️

Whats Bielsa up to these days? Hold the fort until Poch comes.
Uruguay's manager.
As such, unsure how appealing 'holding the fort' for 12 PL games here would be.
That said, we are still in CL, so wonder to what extent (if any) that may factor in to the choice of an interim manager we appoint(?)

As an interim, I actually wouldn't mind Harry, with his age and lack of recent experience being the only question marks in my mind.

He knows how to get instant results, he dragged us out of the muck before, he can motivate players and let them do what they're best at.

All we need is someone to give the dressing room a lift and grind out 11 points in 11 games (Arse being a free hit given the difficulty). 3 wins, 2 draws, 6 losses.

Just saying, we could do worse.

If it was between him and Mason I would rather Redknapp tbh. Don't think it will be either of them though. Assuming it won't be Heitinga as would have announced the same day I would have assumed....

Hope it isn't Heitinga, too. Did an atrocious job on his last run out as head coach.

Also hope it isn't de Zerbi - man is an utter nutcase and an absolutely detestable human being. Guy like that has a 50:50 chance of saving us or dragging us under.
