What is interesting about that red/blue state map that gets trotted out all the time is that it is quite misleading. Outside of the urban centres all of rural america votes gop. All of it, even in the so-called blue states. All urban centres vote blue and whether a state goes Democrat or not is effectively decided by the population of the cities in that state. The phenomenon is called urban archipelago, I believe. This is why the cities are the target of nearly all harmful gop policies - policies designed to target the urban dem voters. The irony being that these cities are the financial engines of the country and keep the rural population afloat with their 'socialism'.

Yes. The immigrant population, the percentage of them who are illegal as you claimed , why they are illegal, and then compare that to all the other urban centres not highlighted. Thanks. The correlation between the hot spots and your figures is far weaker than the correlation between blue states and hotspots.

Democrats desire to thwart mass deportations is because illegal immigrants are a vital part of their power base. Works the other way for the Republicans. They wanted them in the country when all that mattered was the cheap labour. But now there are other motivations.

Illegal immigrants and non citizens still count towards the census which occurs every decade, even if they cannot legally vote. The census determines the apportionment of congressional seats and electoral votes. Because we have see vast numbers of citizens of blue states migrating to red states, it’s expected that the traditionally blue states are going to lose 11 seats and th red states will gain 11 seats. A 22 point swing that will on the Republicans favor with Florida now a deep red state to boot.

Lock up everybody without due process in concentration camps and then deport them to El Salvador. My legal solution would be different.
