*** OMT: Spurs vs Sunderland*** Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday 4th January, 3pm

Ben Davies on his debut....

We're just not very good technically which in this game is the issue more than anything else.

We need at least a couple players like Perisic that do everything right every time and we could score 4/5.

In general our defenders are better technically than our attackers.

For the first time in decades I've stopped watching Tottenham live on Sky or wherever because let's face it they're pretty unwatchable these days. So I've come on here to keep track of what's going on.

Even so I live in hope so please someone alert me when you think it might actually be worth while!

Please stop watching long term, it's our best performance in ages.

…today we actually look ok. It’s still a bit rusty, passed not in front of people etc but we’ve genuinely looked alright so far (to my eye anyway).

It’s a curious mix isn’t it, I always wonder if you took Tel, Muani, Richy and Solanke and gave them all the same ten chances each, a few headers, a few close range, a few long… who finishes more of them? As you say, with Kane here you would back him to finish more than the others each and every time. This lot, I wouldn’t actually know who I would back to be the best finisher overall.

And bar Solanke they can all play out wide. Muani looks shy. Richi when playing on instinct, is decent, and the best rn. Odobert has the most potential. And Tel can strike a ball sweetly, but needs to get his precision.

The thing that made Kane was his love of the limelight. You're in the pressure situation, in front of goal, 60,000 hearts in mouths....what happens next? Some love that moment and go ice cold - but not many.

fudging hell......using Kane as the benchmark.

Yeah the loose touches and number of short/poor passes is stark - possibly what is seen on the training field & influencing decisions
