9 months without even being able to speak with his family, and this kid is 16. It must be a living nightmare for him. Poor poor guy.

Israel seems to pull the Trump trick of constantly moving the goal posts for what is acceptable/tolerable behavior. You can't even begin to condemn one action before they've gone and done ten other ones even more atrocious than the first, making the first look almost ok. You would hope the next generation of Israelis could possibly change something, but the indoctrination seems to be running deep.

No mention of the fact that the kid would already have had his day in court had his first lawyer not continually asked for delays.

What about the fact that the kid now has a new lawyer who has requested time to review the case?

In the time that's passed...I'm pretty sure there's a good idea of the impending case from both sides of the courtroom.

So depending on the severity of it, I'm sure Trump can just make that call if he wished. Legal barriers are just minor little speed bumps in the road for Trump after all.

He was kidnapped by foreign soldiers ffs. He's a child. He has rights. You really don't see them as equally human to the Israelis.

He was arrested for throwing rocks at vehicles although, of course, you already know that.

Half truths, twisted truth and flat out lies are the modus operandi for the anti-Israel lot, so it's not a surprise.

The kid's own lawyer wanted to offer a plea deal, so I'm fairly sure it's an open and shut case.

So what's the hold up? How complex can this case be?

I wouldn't want one of my nationals fudging around GHod knows where for 9 months on a virtual misdemeanor

Dropping rocks from a motorway bridge can be really fudging dangerous.

20 years is the standard term in Israel for that. It's considered a very serious crime.
