If you watch and look at detail, not results and get caught up in it, you can see spring shoots. Areas where Frank is improving things. Our ability to play through midfield for example. In possession we are getting better. It is not making a difference yet. But if you have a critical eye you can see signs.

No it doesn't. We saw against PSG Franks tatics can work. It didn't today. We move on.

No, that's just you whinging :)

Who is too negative? Frank or you!

We lost Son, Maddison, Kulu, and we are work in progress. Patience. And try not to undermine the coach.

Can you explain to me how we have improved our playing through midfield, because groundskeepers everywhere have a third less work due to that area of the pitch being left alone...

I want our manager of coach players to play his way
That team today didn’t look it knew what their role was and that’s on him

Well, I think they valiantly tried to do what he was asking them to do, but it is not what any of us want to see. I think he has to be careful with the dressing room now.

Look Ange was not up to it in the PL. Last season showed that and this season in his albeit short time at Forest. The decision to get rid was 100% correct.

But...

That's not relevant here. It's the TF show now. Something is not right with the team. It's not just a quality issue either IMHO. There is a lack of togetherness. Xavi is looking a lot more laboured than he should; Kudus is looking like a luxury player. Richarlison is not good enough to lead the line. So that's basically our attack. We are also missing Solanke, Deki and Madders, 3 important and relatively senior players.

Today however our problems were also at the back. That defence was all over the place. They were absolutely diabolical. For at least 2 goals, Eze had to shoot through more than 1 player. There were no leaders at the back. The Arsenal players wanted it more. As did Chelsea. We are not as good as those sides but for them to want it more than the Spurs players is shameful.

But for now, TF still needs to be given the benefit of the doubt.

...but again against a top 6 side he has gone callow...is this who he is mate? ;-)

Let's agree that dialectically speaking we are both right.
I think that is fair.

I want our manager to have more attacking personality.
I think that's absolutely fair and I do also. I don't think a starting line up of 3 CBs, Bentancur plus Palhinha is winning many games if i'm honest. I just can't see it. I do believe that he will attempt to play more progressively if he believes he has the players to do it successfully. As it stands he clearly doesn't and maybe I give him a little leeway because I feel similarly but as I said in another thread when I look at the profile of players we have attempted to sign I have to think that he does want to dominate in the long run. At the same time I have to be fair and say I don't expect a messiah and I believe the biggest progressive change we can make is by bringing in the right calibre of player more than I think its anything a coach can fix.

Thats not excusing today, it was a poor setup and one that I don't think ever had a chance of winning. I'd like to see some combination of Xavi and Muani on the pitch as I believe they are more suitable options than what we did go with. For me, i'll try and take a positive and hope it kills off the 352 for Frank and we don't try to play this again as I hate it as a system. You can not win midfield by playing that way and if you don't win midfield you typically can't win the game.

Can you explain to me how we have improved our playing through midfield,
I can't really. You're going ot have to appreciate it for yourself.

Early on under Frank we were just going down the flanks. Bentancur not taking the ball or turning. Now, we start to to a bit. It's not perfect, but there are signs we are working on it. And from about 50 mins today and in spells in other games, you can see an improved ability to pass the ball through the midfield.

Yeah after we were 2 down and had changed the quantity of defensive players
Also when Xavi came on and showed for the ball in midfield

I think Frank needs to turn a corner at some point, start to show a bit of audere and facere'ing - because today was utter dogbrick. I appreciate that we played the best team in the league (sadly), but man, we didn't do brick. I remember games at Highbury like this, Steffen Iversen lumbering along like Richarlison up top today not getting anywhere near the ball, every one of our players just sprinting around like headless chickens in defense, Arse peppering us with shots and inevitably scoring. Phalinha, bless him, spent more time on his arse spinning around in circles than passing the ball to his team mates. Bentancur, fudging hell, absolute waste of space, again.

What were we even trying to do today?! You could tell from the very beginning that this wasn't working, whatever the hell we were trying. Defend our way to a 0-0? fudge me, you can't do that in an NLD, even if it is away. At least set us up to try to score a fudging goal.

Bleh.

100%. They got Eze, we got Xavi. One is ready to go and just won them the game, the other isn’t and didn’t.

Tells you everything.
It tells us fudge all apart from reminding us that Eze was waiting for a move to Arsenal all along and they made their move precisely when they needed to.

How we could’ve done with a sprinkling of Sonny’s winning mentality today…

I don't really care what anyone else thinks is the right way to build a team... build from a defensive base... build from a strong forward line...or build a dominant midfield...
First and foremost for me...THFC should be a creative attacking team always... brave and beautiful. That's who we are...or supposed to be...even in the past when we have had average players compared to the opposition, we have lost whilst trying to win a game of football... this brick at the moment of not trying to lose and giving the opposition 2/3's of the pitch is not who I believe my THFC should ever be.
After Poch... We've had Mourinio, Conte, Nuno and now Frank...none of them are THFC manager's...when we went for Ang, it was purely to get our Tottenham back (ok so maybe in the end he wasn't the right man for this level of football to make us great) but the culture and philosophy was right, the intention was right, and he should have been replaced with a better technical attacking minded manager.
TF doesn't appear to be a THFC style manager...I hate how we use long balls forward to create/build attacks... it's so anti-spurs... it's not the quality of the players at all, it's the style of play. Even average PL players can play creative pass and move football, we see it all the time with other teams. I can take losing whilst trying to win a game, I can't take losing trying to contain the opposition. This is so so brick to watch and follow.
