Tommy Robinson looked like a right clown on stage. This is far right as you asked earlier. I'm glad the subject is now closed.
Tommy Robinson looked like a right clown on stage.
But let’s be honest here, he’s not killed one person, not threatened to kill anyone who doesn’t agree with his thoughts etc. He’s not started a cult. He’s just frustrated with what he’s seeing and people relate. Freedom of speech.
It sounds like your parents didn't focus too much on other people, and focussed on themselves and their power. You see I don't really understand this paragraph. How are we, the general population being screwed?
While I do think we need to control the numbers coming in, we also need to challenge some of these narratives particularly the one in the statement I've quoted.
My parents are first generation immigrants. My dad, in particular, escaped abject poverty, living in a wooden shack which could get badly damaged when the hurricanes came, having to protect their food and clothing from rats and c0ckroaches. He came to England to train and work with not a penny to his name. He and mum since separated, both own their own homes as do both their kids. They demonstrate what can you can achieve in this country through hard work, even when you start with nothing. And their story is not unique.
Don't get me wrong, we have problems in this country but we also have an education system that is the envy of the world, a free at point of care health system, political stability and freedoms to basically live our lives as we want, vibrant cities that attract millions of tourists and incredible natural beauty. If you work hard and want to you can live a decent life here. It's why I love this country. Yeah we are going through some tough times but so are the rest of the fudging world and we are more shielded than most.
Now compare with Sudan, where this a raging civil war, or Somalia which is ravaged by drought and political instability and/or terrorism or Afghanistan where girls struggle to get an education. Do you wonder why people are running from those countries?
Clearly we can't accept everyone and anyone who does come here and becomes a citizen needs to ensure that they respect our laws and culture.
I looked up the meaning of Patriot - Someone who is willing to fight for or uphold their country's interests and values. I consider myself a "patriot." I love my country and served it as a Police officer and now work for a local authority. I can see how people can get on.
But I'll tell you who are not Patriots, the likes of Farage, Robinson and Hopkins who keep talking this country down, telling us how terrible everything is. Or the cretins who think it is ok to deface British landmarks with red crosses attack police officers or set fire to people in hotels.. Patriots are people who defend all British communities irrespective of race, religion or origin.
What we are witnessing at the moment is not patriotism IMHO, it's ugly nationalism being driven by people who want power to spread their toxic agenda. This is why I believe we need to push back and not accept their poisonous rhetoric.
Oh I know but obviously your definition is outside of the dictionary.
No I was actually making a point about the violent life of Mohammed. Come back to me when you can safely say Tommy Robinson did worse things than this. Goodnight. You've conflated violent terrorism with far right politicos you absolute tool
No I was actually making a point about the violent life of Mohammed. Come back to me when you can safely say Tommy Robinson did worse things than this. Goodnight.
No mask. Your definition is completely off. I actually went back to my dictionary and checked.Haha the mask slips. You still have no clue what far right means lad. I think your issue is with understanding the terms you use. How are they defined academically. Colloquially.
And dude mentioning Muhammed doesn't trigger me. I've had so much said to me on this forum I've got thick skin. Say more. It doesn't bother me.
No mask. Your definition is completely off. I actually went back to my dictionary and checked.
Well I think it’s not about triggering, it’s about understanding the levels of disagreement. You shouldn’t be triggered in the slightest. Its night and day as who is the better person between the two.
Like I said religion is looopy AF. I’m sure you can see that if you think Tommy is a wrongun too.
Very much so. But again like everyone they're not perfect. It sounds like your parents didn't focus too much on other people, and focussed on themselves and their power.
Realising opportunity, and taking opportunities that were available to them, knowing a safety net of health and welfare was in place if things got bumpy.
They made a life, a better life for themselves. I bet you're proud of them, and their hard work?.
Then you are alright with me. I’m making the point Tommy is not everything you have made him out to be. Anyway let dead dogs lie. Have a good SundayDude I'm not religious. Why are you assuming. Your whole premise of abuse is on me caring what you think of Islam. I don't.
My issue is you assuming we are all the same and that I need to condemn others to prove my worth to you. It's insane.
You see I don't really understand this paragraph. How are we, the general population being screwed?

Lovely post mate thank you. It really warms me to see people stick up for their community and everyone in it. I believe we get out of our troubles by people sticking together and trying to find solutions together. Not by dividing communities and pitting one group against another.Just to make a small point, which I’m sure will be ignored, but the snobbery actually really irritates me.
I live in Clacton. I was born here, I moved back here (using my own money cheers Marky) and bought a property so that I can look after my elderly parents who it made sense to be closer to. I did so after a few years living closer to London for work.
There’s this idea online that everyone in Clacton is some idiot, scumbag who couldn’t possibly live in the, I’m sure, absolutely perfect areas people making these type of comments reside in.
Around me, I’m mostly surrounded by people of retirement age and older who fancy living out the rest of their lives by the sea, or, first time buyers who take advantage of being able to get on the housing ladder with property here being cheaper due to it being a seaside town. Since I’ve been back, I’ve had no issues, there are people here who aren’t the worlds best, but believe me, those sort of people live in your areas too.
What we do have is a rather large community of people who still believe in old fashioned community - a school uniform shop where you can donate the stuff your kid grows out of so people who can’t always afford new bits can pop in and get some help. For work, I drop into numerous support groups for various health conditions and keep them running and look for funding options, I work with the local volunteer service who help people with disabilities find employment by working on their CV’s and interview techniques with them. There are so many little family run businesses here that are still here from when I was a kid.
However since Nigel arrived and conned a lot of the town into thinking he cared about them, all I see online is that we’re all racist, we’re all idiots and the town isn’t worth anything. Whether that be from locals in Frinton who fought for years to not have a chip shop inside the gates in case it “lowered the level of the town” or people from across the UK who have never even been here.
Not everyone voted, and not everyone who did vote, went with Reform. The idea that Farage and his millionaire mates give a toss about me, or indeed any of you is insane. They’re grifters, and their only aim is to sew division and make you think it’s migrants underfunding your services, cutting your police, raising your energy bills, and making your weekly shop more expensive, because if youre blaming the migrants, you aren’t looking at Nige and co. (For what it’s worth, I don’t feel I belong to any political party, I couldn’t name a single party currently who I think genuinely have the best interests of the general British public at heart).
I absolutely hate where this world is headed currently, say you are happy for people to claim asylum? You must be a “lefty”, raise your countries flag? You must be “far right”. When did people stop being able to have any nuance of thought and be able to explain that actually a bit of a, and a bit of b is where you’re sat, and you don’t entirely agree with either side.
I apologise, you two I’m sure were making a bit of a light hearted jibe at a town, but this is about the 20th time today (and what feels like the 1000th time recently) I’ve read something slating the town I live in that I happen to know truly. It’s starting to grate.
That won’t get reported like that now will it? It’s already on the BBC that right wing idiots got arrested.
Not with the landslide majority. They will leave it as late as possible into 2029. Only earlier if they've got a big lead in the pollsI think we will have a GE by Nov 2027.
Because it's not from yesterdayThat won’t get reported like that now will it? It’s already on the BBC that right wing idiots got arrested.
Can't understand why the police are even bothering to get in the middle of this.so over 100k people turned up for a march for conspiracy theories and racism
we are fudged
massively troubling rhetoric, it was a white nationalist rally, all that was missing was white hoods and burning crosses
